:coffee: In our times there is much Islam-aphobia going on and it concerns me.

I have no fear of Muslims and I like Islam.

The scriptures of the holy Quran are like a part of the Bible. First the old Testiment, then came the New Testiment, then the holy Quran.

The Hedrew word "Eloheem" is translated into english as "God" and that same word is translated into Aramaic as "Allah". So the names of God and Allah come from the same source and mean the same thing. Allah means God and Muhammed is one of His messangers.

When people make fun, jokes, cartoons, or more seriously degrade aspects of Islam then those people's Islam-aphobia and Muslim-aphobia is justified because their own ignorance is the cause of their own fear, and rightly so.

I respect Islam and thus I have no fear from it at all.

Not just the Danish... :ohwell:

Seems like we are to be held accountable for the Danish newspapers.

Police killed four people Wednesday as Afghans enraged over drawings of the Prophet Muhammad marched on a U.S. military base in a volatile southern province, directing their anger not against Europe but America.

The U.S. base was targeted because the United States "is the leader of Europe and the leading infidel in the world," said Sher Mohammed, a 40-year-old farmer who suffered a gunshot wound while taking part in the demonstration in the city of Qalat.

If they are as stupid, and as ignorant as they seem to be, then they deserve every bit of what they get.

That is just plain ignorance. Futhermore, we need to wake up as a country, and realize who and what we are dealing with here. Their set of values and ethics are not what we are accustomed to. Maybe it's because they have repressed for so long, they've adopted their stance- that everyone else is simply an infidel - and deserves to die, if they do not agree with their philosophy.

I'm leaning towards the idea, that certain plots of land in the Middle East should be turned into molten glass.

Now now. Midnightrider will call you a racist :nono:

We're supposed to love our enemies and do good to those who hate us.

Yep, our God teaches just that. However, He also teaches not to partake in revenge against others, just for the sake of it.

This burning of embassies, national flags, the killing of innocents is doing more than what is called for. JMHO

Then, you have Syria and Iran, two countries mentioned tonight on Fox News, who appear to be fanning the hatred and igniting more violence.

Ignorant people deserve every bit of what they get? It is a travesty that someone could feel so strongly about people this way. I wonder what you feel gives you the right to judge someone's intelligence and intellect as a reason for deserving harm.

What exactly are we dealing with that you imply? And what set of values and ethics are you accustomed to that wishes harm on others due to their ignorance? Sounds like you've adopted the stance that you state others have: Everyone else is simply an infidel - and deserves to die if they do not agree with your philosophy.

It is hate, lack of empathy & statements as yours that divides us.

I must ask you this:

When was the last time you observed people firing guns into the air, burning another nation's flag, or burning an embassy to the ground - in this country?

Yeah, we snipe at one another, sometimes with meaness.

But the violence that has been shown on the TV news is deploreable.

Have you seen that here?

THAT"S what I'm getting at.

I dont mean to argue with how you feel, how can I tell you your feelings are wrong?

There are many crimes here in the US that are just as atrocious. People die innocently daily in our nation, children & adults... I think to deny that would be ignoring it. I dont think the acts themselves differ with what you are referring to, maybe they seem less barbaric, but innocent lives are lost all over the world.

There's no denying that. But, here's a major difference:

You say: People die innocently daily in our nation, children & adults...

The key word is innocently. What's going on over there in the Middle East is NOT an innocent matter. They are rioting. Looting and killing in a mindless rage; a rage that most Americans can't begin to imagine.

Here's a commentary from Australia, the other side of the world. Their take:

That barbaric cult, Islam, is it's own worst enemy.

Someone elses quote, but it says it well....

"So, this guy is upset that his faith is linked to threats, violence, and terrorist activity---and they respond with.....threats, violence and terrorist activity........"
