Had lunch there today. Haven't been in a while. They have really changed and not for the better. And the prices.....yikes!

Got a wood grilled pork chop there a couple of weeks ago, it was one of the best chops I've ever had, very tender and juicy.

Ever since Texas Roadhouse opened, service at Outback has gone downhill. Food is still OK, but not like it used to be.

well, the service was fine, but it seems like they ration things like Splenda and A-1 and stuff. They must have geezers coming in and stealing Sweet and Low, lol.

No need for A-1 but I agree with sweet and low. Sometimes hard to come by. All in all We like outback and will go back often. We do eat at the bar and love the service there.

I think they've changed the sizes of their steaks so as to not have to raise prices too noticeably.

I have been a huge fan of their "Rockhampton Ribeye" since they first opened up in Waldorf. I got it every time I went there. I went to the Outback in California (twice) about 6 months ago and I definitely noticed, both times, that the ribeye was thinner that it used to be. I think it went from 17 ounces to 14. And yes, the price went up noticeably too.

I say: raise the prices but don't cheat me out of what I'm used to...

We thought the serving size of everything has gone down too, we get kind of set in our ways and seem to order the same thing every time. Last time we went the kids finished all of the cheese fries in like two seconds, I went to order more and the Waitress nastily said they would not be out before the rest of the food. Then at the end she was $1.85 short on our change and when I mentioned it to her she told me they do not give coin change because it gets to confusing and refused to give me the rest of the money. I told her I guess that was all she wanted for her tip then and left.

Hubby had carry out for the fire department from the waldorf one saturday. They picked it up in one of the fire departments vehicles and charged them a gratuity of 18% for carry-out. Over $40. Since when is gratuity charged on carry-out? Not impressed with the food - as the steaks were not cooked - some of them were raw.

The entire carry-out section of a restaurant seems to be a prime opportunity for a place to put the employees who exhibit poor qualities as a table waiter/ess; these employees would get "busted down" to carry out until their moral improves. But, they put the tip automatically in the tab....that is bullsh*t.

We happened to go to Outback last night. The serving sizes have shrunk even further. Even the sweet potato was smaller :frown:

The front manager came by and gave his thanks for our choosing Outback, but unless they begin to give out some nice looking coupons....they'll lose our business.

We tried the Texas roadhouse, twice, already. mmm mmmmm:yum:

I think the problem with Outback is; they think you're gonna fill up on the "bloomin' onion" and a bunch of appetizerz. The Entree' portions are laughable IMHO. The last time I was there I got the biggest ribeye they had.
It must have been "pre-cooked weight"; because what I got was about the size of a small boneless pork chop.

I kinda want to go to TRH after the "newness" wears off, just to see what's there.

Isn't this the norm............

Usually..... But my point; such as it is; is, the folks at Outback expect you to fill up on appetizers.
Appetizers do not a dinner make. Am I wrong?

The appetizers is their money bag I'm sure, normally if we go there the wife and I both get the OB special and usually the Ahi Tuna appetizer, we get out of there for about $30 and for us, it's worth it

Well, yeah.....I guess it's worth it, if there's a sizeable (sp?) amount with the Ahi Tuna appetzer.

To date, I haven't tried everything on their menu. So, I supose I should not really say that Outback is chintzy with their entree's.

:yeahthat:

I think they have some good appetizers...and their wings are delish! We normally go there for drinks and aps only.

If I want a big fat juicy steak I stay home. I havent had a steak out at a restaurant that was as good as the ones I make at home....well other than Ruth Chris :buddies:

I don't know if they are skimping on anything but a 6oz steak(theysayitssteak), with 2 sides isn't bad for $10 especially since we don't have to cook or clean....

that is crazy! If I were you I'd call the manager or headquarters and complain.
ESPECIALLY since they were in a FD vehicle. We ate at the OB in LaPlata a couple of months ago and felt like it had really changed back then. :( They've got too much really good competition to be screwing around now.
