Bagram torture and prisoner abuse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The latest prize-winning documentary from Oscar-nominee Alex Gibney, confirms his standing as one of the foremost non-fiction filmmakers working today. A stunning inquiry into the suspicious death of an Afghani taxi driver at Bagram air base in 2002, the film is a fastidiously assembled, uncommonly well-researched examination of how an innocent civilian was apprehended, imprisoned, tortured, and ultimately murdered by the greatest democracy on earth. Intermingling documents and records of the incident with candid testimony from eyewitnesses and participants, the film uncovers an inescapable link between the tragic incidents that unfolded in Bagram and the policies made at the very highest level of the United States government in Washington, D.C. Combining the cool detachment of a forensic expert with the heated indignation of a proud American who holds his country to a high standard, Gibney’s film reveals how the Bush administration has systematically betrayed the very ideals it professes to uphold.

:coffee: Clearly it is not just him because the people involved in making the documentary are also outraged.

And we know of reports all over the world of outrage over the crimes committed by the USA under the orders of the Bush administration, Amnesty International USA, link HERE = Crimes -- Committed In All Our Names.

Many Americans that might feel outrage have their feelings suppressed because American citizens are powerless when our chief law enforcement officer the President of the USA is the criminal.

Our criminal President Bush and company are making so that the crimes are an acceptable part of our society and people are incorporating the atrocities as a normal part of American policy and this is a large example of criminal leaders violating a population.

It was Hitler that convinced the Germans to commit atrocities, and it is Bush that has turned the USA into a criminal Country.

Nothing like dragging outdated materials in a futile attempt to prove some stupid point against President Bush. Too bad we're on to both of you.

and you have nothing to say on the subject at all. :bigwhoop:

Why would he? When you or Forcedstool have anything to say, it's usually something stupid and not worthy of an intelligent response or any response at all. Forcedstool has a problem with republicans and other decent normal people in this world and is an angry gay man who blames all of his problems on Bush. You are just a phych patient on the loose.

Yeah Ass Hole and if you read the entire wiki article you will find that that:

On October 14, 2004, the Criminal Investigation Command forwarded its report from its investigation to the commanders of 28 soldiers.[6]

As of November 15, 2005, 15 soldiers have been charged.[7]

and in the footnote several have been convicted ........ but in your interest to make the US further look bad "Oooo the US Tortures Prisoners"

how about ask Al Queda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad Organization (other IslamoFascists groups responsible for grabbing Americans since the 80's) about all the Americans they have killed and tortured over the years ....

* 1984, March 16. William Francis Buckley, United States Central Intelligence Agency Beirut chief of station, was abducted on this date. Islamic Jihad Organization claims to have killed him on October 3, 1985. The Islamic Jihad Organization later released to a Beirut newspaper a photograph purporting to depict his corpse. Press reports stated that Buckley had been transferred to Iran, where he was tortured and killed. [35]

* 1984 May. Presbyterian minister Benjamin Weir is kidnapped by three armed men. Weir may have thought he was safe from harm from Muslims because he lived in Shiite West Beirut working "closely with various Muslim-oriented charity and relief groups," and had lived in Lebanon since 1958. Two days after his abduction, a telephone message claimed: "Islamic Jihad organization claims it is responsible for the abduction ... in order to renew our acceptance of Reagan's challenge [to fight "state terrorism"] and to confirm our commitment of the statement ... that we will not leave any American on Lebanese soil." [36]

* 1986, February 10. The Islamic Jihad Organization released a photograph that claimed to show the (dead) body of French citizen Michel Seurat, who had been kidnapped earlier.

Quattrocchi's kidnappers forced him to dig his own grave and kneel beside it wearing a hood as they prepared to film his death, but he defied them by trying to pull off the hood and shouting "vi faccio vedere come muore un italiano!" -- "I show you how an Italian dies!" He was then shot in the back of the neck.[1]

So I guess your point is that whatever inhuman tactics our enemies use, we can use too?

Gee, I wonder why the founding fathers didn't think of that when the brits were mistreating our citizens....

Well, what if they're not terrorists, like the subject of this film?

While you're at it, why not torture accused murderers, and rapists? Hey, why wait for the verdict? Torture the confession out of them before they get a trial...

What a swell system you've devised for our country.

Been reading a little Mein Kampf have we?

Question for you Forest... I don't suppose you have kids or someone in your life that you love so much that you would die for? To what extent would you go to get you own child back if he/she was kidnapped by murderers if you had the opportunity?
