Outside the box

I know VV has a Malamute like me but how many others, when thinking of getting a dog, thought outside the norm and picked a dog that not alot of people own/see every day? What type of breed did you get? Why did you choose the breed you did?

small, inside dog...cairn terrier.

large, outside dog......Chessie or German Shephard.

Those are cute and the only one I've met was very friendly. BS Gal fell in love.

I want one too.. Have always wanted one, SO says he refuses to own a dog that can look him in the eye Trying to figure out how to sneak one in the house..

They're very boxer-like but in a smaller package.

My next dog.....if I can convince hubby that spending $1500-1800 on a dog is worth it, rare in the US or not.
