Had some pallets sitting around and said what the heck.
Made a wine (or whatever) rack today with just a few cuts and some stain. Wife started making a prototype garden bench too.

Very cool! You said yesterday, you might look into other hobbies, besides making your cigar box guitars. You don't waste any time, do you!

Thanks. I had off today. Because of some medical issues, I have to keep myself moving/busy or I can't move much at all. This was the cheapest thing without leaving the house.
There's so many things you can do with a pallet and they're usually free.

I love stuff like this.... very nice now the bench can be painted to look pretty.

Wife is leaning towards something of an L shape bench for the garden. I'm liking the smaller works.

Well, that just shows how clever you are, and your wife, too. I guess it's on to the next hobby. By the time, you exhaust all your ideas, we will be reading about the Wharf Rat & Wife Marketplace, and people will come from miles around to buy your wares!

Funny thing is, we don't drink wine.

We're going to build a small bench for our critter garden tomorrow. Maybe a small table to go with it, a little more detailed and not such a dark colored stain.

Yeah, we had that discussion tonight. One of the reasons that I like the smaller pieces I think.

Todays project. Just pieced together then stained. Clear coat tomorrow then final assembly. Wife kept herself pretty busy today. Have a few more scrap wine racks too.

Are the inchworms helping you measure as you build? The stained bench looks awesome. Add some pillow/cushions and you've got a winner. The wine racks are cool, too. I think you are on to something. I would definitely buy both. My daughter just bought a house, and is looking for items to fill her home.

Cool! Like I said, we don't drink wine anyway.
We have a few more pallets left. May make some other shelf type things and stain them all the same...a 'set' I guess.

Yeah, wife's already planning cushions of some kind for her bench. I have a small table planned as well.

I think what you are doing is awesome and creative, and I am sure if my wife saw this I would be doing the wine rack. She wants one.

Thanks. It's the easiest thing to do. Takes longer to stain it than anything. If you don't stain it you could be done in less than 30 minutes.

I will have to talk to her to see if she would want me to do it.

After my experience with installing 2 of 3 ceiling fans today, I am a little hesitant to do anything for her for a while lol
