Info from the last issue of the Tester (2/10/05):
Cold temperatures are starting to set in. Why spend money for kindling and starter wood for your fireplace or wood stove when you can get this free at the Recycling Center located in Bldg. 604.

Station residents and employees may come to the Recycling Center to pick up free scrap wood pallets. They are mainly pine or oak wood... clean, not pressure treated and they make great kindling for your roaring fire. They can also be used to stack cords of wood.

If you are interested, you may contact Gary Costanzo, Recycling Coordinator at 301-342-0454. Pickup hours are Monday through Friday from 7 - 11 a.m. and noon - 3 p.m.
