Ok, so according to you the Vatican should sell it's treasures. To what and whom? Museums? Private buyers? So, they do that, a one time deal, and feed the hungry for like what....a year maybe?
Instead, the Vatican keeps the treasures for public viewing thereby generating constant revenue to feed the hungry indefinitely. No museum or private owner is going to do that. Personally I like the Vatican's plan better, yours is just stupid. Jesus would probably agree with me.
Yup, the Church has a lot of land holdings; afterall, Catholic parishes exist the world over and the the institution is 2000+ years old. (We're not just talking the USA here.) Treasure is used to generate revenue (see above) and cash is needed to run an institution that is so large (the world is a big place dude). I'm not sure what your point is? Are you saying the Church keeps massive cash stashed away in reserve somewhere for the Pope and Bishops to wine and dine on while rolling around in a pile of gold and jewels?
