Parent Support

Does anyone know if there is a support system for the single working parent in the St. Mary's County area? I would be interested in learning more if there is.

I guess it would be emotional. Not financial and definitely not a dating group. Just support. My mom is leaving for Germany in a week and a half and I have no other family here. It would just be nice to have that support from other people going through the same thing. The MOMS program is for the SAHM so I am curious to see if there is the same kind of thing for the single working parent.

There are all kinds of groups that need starting! I dont see much support groups around, unless you have had gastric bypass.

I've found that online support groups work wonders, so much more than I ever expected from something so anonymous.

I use one on LJ for my disorder, and I find that I'm able to discuss and get support on there for things I would never have had the guts to discuss in person. Just an idea, good luck in your search.

Well, its also nice to get out of the house and meet new people. If you have something to talk about you shouldnt be ashamed about it. Most likely you arent the only one. Everyone has things they need to talk about its a matter of finding the right people to open up to.
