Parental responsibility

Hypothetically speaking of course if a child, lets say a male child, lets even call him "Coy", went to a pool party with his school. Lets say the parent, lets call him "Peat" dutifully got Coy up and got his swimsuit, towel, $5 cash for stuff and a bottle of SPF 25 waterproof sunscreen all together. Peat then lectured Coy on the importance of applying liberal amounts of sunscreen to prevent burns. Lets say Peat reminded Coy before he went to the bus "put on the sunscreen, DO NOT forget". Now Peat comes home from work and Coy is looking kinda red. Coy takes of shirt and he is scorched.

Does Peat have to use the magic blue aloe with lidocane to east Coy's suffering, or should he let Coy suffer because he did not listen to Peat's repeated warnings?

Sun blocks have NEVER worked for me; in fact, they make me burn in spots.

He may have applied it and it just didn't hold up long. A child is not going to constantly reapply sun block when he's having fun. Crap, most adults wouldn’t bother either.

And I'd venture to say that Coy's dad probably has been burned in the past when he used no sun block.

One would think that he would know by now whether or not sun screen works on his child...unless he's been keeping him in the basement all these years.

Said hypothetical parent should have applied the sunscreen to their child (naked) before they ever got dressed and left the house.

What kind of parent is this? :smack:

Children need that applied before they put on their "gear" for swimming, or whatever.

The sunscreens today can last for hours, and many are waterproof. That is the hypothetical parents responsibility to buy the best for their child.

When the child is a teenager, they may even need help for hard to reach spots.

I am speaking from experience.

OK, Coy was slathered in the magic blue aloe vera. Peat was just wondering if he should have let Boy.....uh I mean Coy learn the hard way that Peat doesn't just say crap to use up extra oxygen.

You are right, Peat should be shot or at least have his ass kicked. I just may go do it now.

I could see me now telling my boys to get naked because mommy is going to apply sunscreen everywhere. :killingme

"Like hell you are mom."

Sure he does because it's a waste of breath to remind a young boy to reapply his sunscreen when he's having a ball at the pool.
