Pawsitive Passage Cremation Service

You should be able to purchase and keep on hand something that would at least sedate your specific pet for a period of time.

Last night son and I were talking about hour oldest dog and he was shocked to learn she will be 13 in September. The average live span of a mini-schnauzer is 9-15 years. He was stunned to learn she was old let alone that she wasn't expected to live much longer because she seems so vibrant and content with life right now. It will literally break his heart when she goes and I expect him to want her cremated rather than buried as we have done with all our other pets.

I spoke to Patrick there when making the arrangements for our dog. They are very flexible with arrangements. They pick up quickly, and you get the remains quickly. They have private cremation and "mass" cremation (you don't get the remains back).

Our Dog was about 110#.

From my notes, which aren't the greatest

Private for 100+ lbs. $225. There is another urn that you can get for $260 (called Sunset?).
Mass cremation. $58

We did not end up using them simply because our vet already used someone else, and we decided we didn't want the remains. We were comfortable with who our vet used, so making the extra arrangements did not make sense to us considering the circumstances. If we had been doing it at home, we would have used Pawsitive for sure

Seems their prices may have gone up a little. Spoke with them today, 265.00 for a pet weighing 51-100 pounds and that doesn't include the urn. Turn around time for remains is 2-3 days.

Unfortunately this is the second time I've had to search for this thread recently.

The first time my friend texted me to let me know his dog of 10 years had passed. I went over to tell them about Pawsitive Passages and they agreed to let me take their dog there for them (I wanted to save them from having to put themselves though the motions, I'm sure pet lovers know what I mean- side note- Pawsitive Passages does pick up/delivery- but I wanted the situation to be more personal for them so I did the transport). Patrick was in constant communication and compassionate through the entire process. Special requests were handled in a timely and professional manor. I spoke with his Mom in length when I went to pick their dog up, she was a pleasure to work with as well. I told her I found out about them through SOMD.com.

The second time....now...is for my dog of 11 years that isn't doing very well. :(

I do know when it is his time to go, that I will be using Pawsitive Passages once again!

:bawl:.... Im sorry ... and my heart does go out to ya.

I have alread stopped in there and "cased" the join.... and made my plans to go there .... and just hope i dont have to anytime soon....

:huggy:
