I wouldn't worry about fear of separation. I would however be concerned about your persecution complex. First rack'm and then DoWhat?

I love reading how all of you southern marylanders come together. Man, this is Southern Living. I mean I was getting teary eyed until I started wondering if Nikki came back to read any of the responses  All this love is here for her, I remember how I was embraced when I first joined the forums

Question for those in the military, do you only shop at the base grocery store for food or do you go to Shopper's (I love that place)? I know rack'm will ask why do I want to know lol so I will say because I have a fear of separation and want to make sure that the outside mingling is balanced here on the forums.
It's called the commissary. And yes, I shop off base too. Where ever the price is best or the product better. Although I find that, canned foods and dairy products are generally cheaper at the commissary.

BX is a USAF and USA terms...navy uses NEX. As for men's department depends on the base. PAX river NEX is pretty small.

The commisary doesn't have everything. I like shopper's for produce and Giant sometimes for sea food. However Woodburns in SOlomons is my favorite.

I mostly do, mainly because of gas these days. I don't want to have to drive. But the commissary is closed on Monday's, so if I should need something then off base I go...

Close! But for one thing they are all owned by the same money grubbing company.. AAFES.. Army it's PX (Post Exchange) thought the Navy, maybe it was in the past, Base Exchange like the Air Force.. thought I did notice the BIG NEX on the outside.. they are all built the same, the same layout, just different sizes..

AAFES stands for Army and Air Force Exchange Service and NEX is Navy EXchange. The NEX and AAFES were separate companies but a few years ago they were discussing a merger. I don't know if they went through with it. I think they were going to use the name military exchange system.

I've never heard anyone in the navy ever call the NEX the BX. Maybe in the 80s before I joined but not in the 15 yrs I've been in. We call it the exchange or just the NEX. Rarely the base exchange but never as BX.
