I thought she was brilliant

Brilliantly mind numbing, and almost painfully embarrassing. That Sunday the Bucs played Seattle here and the SSB took all of 48 seconds, sung sharply and brilliantly by a large black choral group. Being there, I timed it.The way it should be. No "look at me" statement making required, or expected. Hometown or not.

I took her rendition as a reminder that we're supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. Especially poignant in this time where people take offense to everything.

Including personalized versions of a song that is strong enough to take it rather than being some exactly 48 second pre flight type thing to be endured. .
