Paypal Fraud

I got an email from Paypal over the weekend that said they had noticed some unusual activity on my account and wanted me to verify the transactions. I clicked a link and got a login window, but since I had heard so many warnings about never giving info to unsolicited inquiries, I paused for a second to check the URL of the site, and saw it was in Italy. I went back to the email and checked the properties of the link and saw that while the link displayed WWW. Paypal.com, the real linked URL was to the bogus website in Italy.

I sent copies of the email to Paypal, and they immediately confirmed that the email was a fake, and they are investigating.

I got one of those. Since I hadn't used PayPal in a while I sent it off to them and got the same reply.

I got one and have never even used paypal or signed up for an account.
:yeahthat: I have even gotten messages that REALLY are from paypal. I send it all to the "spoof" email and if they come back saying that it was really from them, I send them back a really, really rude reply telling them it's no wonder that their customers get ripped off so much if they can't even keep track of themselves.

I will never use paypal for that reason.

Hmm I have used paypal for years and the only email I get from them is about their Visa card.
