I have a top coat called Sec'nDry that I got at Sally's - you brush it over your wet polish and it dries it hard within 30 seconds.

I also have a Sally Hanson polish that dries very quickly, within maybe 3 minutes for two coats.

So why don't Kim's and those other nail places use this instead of me having to sit there for a year waiting for paint to dry?

Good point. I hate that sitting around waiting crap.

You should ax them. Or take your own quick dry polish with you. Maybe they'll get the hint.

Because they want you to mess up your nails before you walk out the door. :ohwell: All the mani/pedi places here suck anyway...I can do a better job myself.

My SIL recommended Seche Vite topcoat and it's pretty awesome despite the awful chemical smell.

When they sit you somewhere to dry, they often start working on the next client. My question is...am I supposed to wait until they come back and tell me it is ok to leave or am I supposed to decide on my own when they are dry? I sat forever once and when i finally decided they were dry enough and started to leave, the girl came back and fussed at me for leaving too soon.

whenever i get my nails done they don't fuss at me and i get up and leave when i think my nails are dry enough to leave never had anyone tell me its ok to leave now.

I like waiting :killingme nail time is leave baby with grandma time and I enjoy it. But I get gel polish on my nails so they are dry immediately..and I wear flip flops so a few minutes of drying my toes is enough. I haven't had to actually sit and wait for a long time.

I've never used the top coat you mentioned before but I have noticed that some of my quick dry polishes seems to go on a little thicker and chip off a little easier/quicker. So I have a few colors for a quick pedi right the day of an event if needed. I like to go get a pedicure every once in a while and then maintain it myself in between. If I do my own nails it still takes forever. I try to do them at night so after a while I can go to bed and won't ding them up. Such ordinary and mundane things seem like such obstacles after the nail have been painted. I feel like the dog is a gladiator out to get me.

:yeahthat: Man, I'm the same way. I kinda prefer to do my own pedi because I feel like I do a better job anyways EXCEPT when it come to the polish. I can never get it to last and look quite as good as when I have it done. Then again, I cringe whenever I see the price of a bottle of nail polish. Lately I've been considering throwing down the extra money for a bottle of really good polish, I guess like an OPI or whatever they use at the pedi place, and just committing to that color for a while. The urge to get up and move around (and mess up the polish) is much worse at my house though. At least at the place I can just sit there and read a trashy magazine for a while....

Pedicures ... Recommendations?

I am fairly new to Saint Mary's County. Where do you recommend for a good, safe pedicure in the Lexington Park, California, and surrounding areas? Thanks!

The other is in San Souci.

I go to the one on GMR as well and have no complaints! Right next door on Saturdays at 11 they have adoption events, so be prepared for that. I almost came home with a new pup a few weeks ago.

I've had one pedicure in my life - for my son's wedding more than a year ago. My toes looked pretty for ages. But the lady who did it was wearing this extremely low cut tank top. I swear I as I sat there all I could see was boobs and bellybutton. And to make matters worse, she kept wedging my foot between her boobs as she massaged my foot. Maybe she had some kind of foot fetish, maybe she was just using all her assets, I don't know. All I know is it was extremely weird for me. The lady that went with me even commented that we seemed to be getting a little cozy. It was weird enough that I haven't been able to go back again.

Guess this is probably going to increase the number of men going for pedicures in SoMd.

I go to Diamond Nails in Wildewood, and love those people. There were 5 guys that came in there yesterday afternoon for pedis. I offered to do one myself. He was sweeeet. Kenny laughed at me and said maybe he'd go for a full body massage, if I wanted to stay till after closing.
