This was recommended to me when my dog did the same thing by our vet at the time Dr. Veitch, 3 notch. He did fine, you only use a little of the broth or liquid garlic at a time. He lived to be 13 years old. After a few time doing this he would eat his regular food again, also we feed him science diet wet and dry.

Really? Who would have thought that salt was okay.

I'm not up to date on this, apparently there's another thread...has the pooch been to the vet to address the vomiting to rule out anything serious?

yes she has mAlice shes been to the vet. the vet told me she needed to be on a grainfree diet shes got skin allergies really bad. All of the grainfree diets I have tried so far she doesn't seem to care for. I got her to eat kibbles in bits for under 3 days then she gave up on that. I now have her on wellness and she won't touch it so I been mixing chicken with it before everyone recommended it as my vet said the same thing put some chicken in with hit or lunchmeat or hamburger. I haven't tried the hamburger route yet as I have to go buy some if I want to try that but not sure if i want to or not.

cowgirl i am putting chicken in her food.....she picks it out and leaves the dogfood behind. I am not trying to make things hard on myself. she is totally spoiled rotten. she wants things her way or the highway :(

jp, this isn't the first time you've presented yourself as someone that is not capable of caring for a pet. I seriously think you should consider finding Bruno a new home and then getting yourself a Chia Pet.

Ok..

For chicken broth just make some. Boil chicken in the water and give her the broth from the chicken. That has no salt in it. Let the food sit in the water for a while and it will absorb the flavor.

Tug's was a picky eater also. When he got hungry he would eat. I cleaned up more than my fair share of puke also.

i did take the advice that was given. I tried putting chicken in her food. she picked out the pieces of chicken and left the dogfood to sit. I can't afford to have her starve herself to death. I love the dog too much. Plus cleaning up yellow bile off of white carpet isn't fun as the stain doesn't come out :( and i just rent i don't own so i will have to pay for new carpet if that starts happening.

She is NOT going to starve herself to death. Good lord. Grow a set of balls and start being the leader. Bruno is a DOG, you are a HUMAN, and YOU make the rules NOT the dog.

It wasn't meant as a joke. I'm seriously concerned about the well being of Bruno.
But what if she changes Brunos name to Chia????? Then we are going to be reading threads about what kind of food to feed a chiapet that wont make it throw up :twitch:

SHE WILL NOT STARVE HERSELF!! Put the chicken in a small food chopper and shred it. Not as easy to pick out.

Animals need salt in their diet. Just because to much salt leads *may* lead to high BP in humans doesn't mean it will do so in other animals. Besides, there is low sodium broth available too.

She is spoild for a reason. Do not spoil her and then complain about how she acts. Trying not to make things hard on yourself is only going to hurt the dog. That to me is being selfish. It is part of the responsibility of owning a dog. If I did not want to make things hard on myself my dogs would be out of control. I deal with things with my dogs on a daily basis, are they all easy, no. But I knew that when I got the dogs not every day with them was gonna be a fun day. It is called being a responsible pet owner.

I have to agree. JP, you are allowing the dog to be your pack leader. I'm not trying to jump on the band wagon and nail you to the cross, but it is the truth.

You seriously need to get control of that dog! Thankfully, it is only a dog, and not a child. Be the leader!

If you are really THAT concerned your dog is going to starve to death, boil some chicken, water it down, puree it and mix it in with the kibble food. If she doesn't eat it, let her go hungry. Put her in a kennel, and clean up the puke. After a few days of this, she will eat (provided there is no medical reason that she is refusing to eat). I've never see a dog or a child starve to death because they were offered food they "didn't like". Jesus, people have been known to drink their own pee to keep from dying of dehydration and starvation. Do you think they'd turn down a steak dinner because they were a vegan?

I'll bet you a blender that as spoiled as bruno is, if you put her kibble in a dish other than her own, and sit at the kitchen table and hand feed her piece by piece she'd eat every piece you hand feed her.
