Perfect Attendance?

I wouldn't blink and eye about doing it while mine was in pre-K or even K... but 3rd grade on I couldn't with good conscience take mine out two weeks straight... one week in elementary school I could do, but not two. But once they hit middle school no way would I ever pull 'em out for a solid week or more. That is face-to-face instruction time and group lessons they'll never get back. It's really not fair to the kid.

Really? I don't think that would bother me a bit. School is a joke. I learned so much more from my mom, reading, and asking questions than I ever did in school. I can't even tell you what classes I took in middle school  and I don't feel like I am at a disadvantage because of it.

Really. That is my real opinion on the matter...:yay: :yay:

My Dad always told us perfect attendance was for kids with no life. He would take us out of school for vacation at least once a year.

My son has missed 4 days this year, 2 because he was sick & 2 before Thanksgiving because I took him out to spend the week with his family.

uh-oh, your in trouble. Taking children out for such things is a "bad thing". Do you realize that attendance is used in some formula for awarding grant money, or somesuch? At least that's what they told us when we said the kids were going to be gone three days for a trip. Too damn bad.

BG, think about what memories you have from K or Pre-K. I'm pretty sure time spent with you folks isnt going to cost the boy anything in the way of learning.

I'm pretty sure K_Jo had perfect attendance.
Yeah, and look where that's gotten her. :shocking: :jailbird:

Well, that does it! We're taking Bubba out of school and we're gonna tour the Country, going to Grateful Dead concerts. :larry:

I'm ok with that! I donate to the school & I'm on the PTA if the school needs something & can show just cause I will write them a check. They hit me up at least once a month for something & I gladly pay it. I want my son to have the best education possible but there is a lot about life you can't learn in a classroom.

Oh great you can those people that sell meat that they cook on a Hibachi after pushing it around all day in a stolen shopping cart. :barf:

 Most Dead Heads are patchuli-smelling vegetarians. :barf:

I'm going to be one of the oddities on the Dead Head Community: someone who bathes regularly, believes in deodorant and toothpaste, has a REAL job, and - dammit - eats MEAT! In my stolen shopping cart, of course. :blushing:

Most parents rely on their kids to learn at school. And most kids don't read on their own :nerd:

Do you not remember your classes because you hardly went or because your memory is impaired?

I remember sitting in the auditorium for Senior awards. I was shocked when one girl received a perfect attendance award. She had not missed a day of school since starting 1st grade. guess I should also mention, she was valedictorian for my class too. :killingme

In My Opinion
So far my youngun has managed a perfect attendance.

all you have to do is send them sick, then have the school nurse send them home after their first class.

(we did do that once, the following week half the school was out,,, I wonder if there is some sort of connection here)

Only one question to ask yourself....

...are you smarter than a 5th grader?

:sarcasm:
No, but I didn't have perfect attendance, either. Perhaps if I had gone to school every single day, I would be smarter than a 5th grader.

Didja ever think of that? :dunce:
