Perhaps the Truth about Saddam's WMD

This Sunday night 60 Minutes will air a show about George Piro, an FBI agent assigned to interrogate Saddam Hussein. Here is part of what they will talk about:

Saddam Hussein initially didn't think the U.S. would invade Iraq to destroy weapons of mass destruction, so he kept the fact that he had none a secret to prevent an Iranian invasion he believed could happen. The Iraqi dictator revealed this thinking to George Piro, the FBI agent assigned to interrogate him after his capture.

Saddam still wouldn't admit he had no weapons of mass destruction, even when it was obvious there would be military action against him because of the perception he did. Because, says Piro, "For him, it was critical that he was seen as still the strong, defiant Saddam. He thought that [faking having the weapons] would prevent the Iranians from reinvading Iraq," he tells Pelley.

Kerad, Forest, JPC??????? Gonna watch?

Come on, this will probably be fact based, and suggest that George Bush didn't lie, the entire world was mislead. That would be so far outside of their sphere of reality (you know, into the actual reality) that there's no way they'll accept it.

Piro probably worked for Halliburton years ago and then did Black ops after being a Bush Sr. Campaign volunteer.

But he did have them, there were many shells found with gas in them. But somehow that doesn't count because they had a UN tag on them....

:coffee: I gave up watching that trashy 60 minutes some 25 years ago and I do not intend to turning back for a re-trashing.

I see the advertisements of that report and I remember the reports when President Hussein was captured.

I say it is a reasonable deduction that President Hussein was smart enough to tell the American "interrogators" only what he wanted to tell and nothing else.

From my learning the actions speak louder than words and President Hussein did everything right according to the defiance book and he sucked Bush and the USA into this un-win-able war on his turf.

That was a splendid example of self-sacrifice by President Hussein in the face off against the tyrant Bush.

President Hussein went down as a hero and died as a martyr and so did his sons, and after the American occupation force leaves then I feel certain in saying that the Iraqi people will celebrate their honorable President that defied the tyrant Bush and the USA because that is their true claim to glory.

The Bush administration has turned the USA into a criminal Country, and the crimes continue still.

So in your estimation, who won the Iraq war: Bush or Saddam?

Now please... no one tell him the answer.

Yeah yeah... I know Bush is the cheating, thieving, lying despot and Saddam is our world's beacon of truth and honor.

 Nobody won it, and the whole world has been negatively affected by the immoral warfare, and the USA severely damaged by it.

This is why I have been trying to explain that competition and the win / lose mentality will always come up short.

The big powerful USA beat the tar out of the small and insignificant Iraq and now the world has a large bleeding wound in the middle east.

If you or anyone thinks Bush and the USA won the Iraq war then you do not know what "winning" means.

President Hussein sacrificed himself and his Country in defiance of the American tyrants and that is a moral victory.

When you can't even define within your own head that one side in a war must win and one side must lose it's obvious you will conclude that this mentally comes up short.

In the short term, war does have a negative impact. Your inability to see beyond the short term wont allow you to envision a positive outcome. I'm quite sure you would have had the same attitude following WWII, especially when the USSR started a whole new war. Our world was in chaos for decades.

We won the war against the Nazis. Hitler lost. We entered into another war following that war. We won the war against Saddam. Saddam lost. We entered into another war following that war. We beat the tar out of Saddam and Saddam fled like the coward he was and hid in a hole in the ground. If you believe this is a "moral victory" then, as I stated above, you don't have a clue what voctory is. Skirting out of town, only to be found cowering in a dank hole begging not to be killed when found, is not a moral victory. It's the defintion of cowardice.

I know exactly what winning means and what it takes to achieve it. You know what losing is and how to achieve it.

Saddam butchered hundreds of thousands of his own people, Kuwaitis and Iranians. He threatened the world with his WMDs and ties to terriorism; then (apparently) when he destroyed the WMDs he still defied the entire world by making EVERYONE believe he still had them. You, not surprisingly, make Saddam into your hero. I just can't wrap my mind around how someone can come to hate this country so much yet still live in it.

Sorry, Jimmy. Bush is the automatic winner - by your explanation...
To "lay down thy life" means like in marriage or becoming a Priest or Minister for life. To go out and get one self killed is throwing thy life away. Laying down thy death not thy life.

Some one jumps in front of danger and gets killed in saving another person is not really "love" at all and getting one self killed most certainly is not a "greater love" then committing thy life to living instead of to death.
Bush has the greater love for his country and is more honorable because he has not led himself to death.

Your pal Hussein was weak and stupid and proved such when he was swaying in the breeze.

I am glad we could clear this up so quickly. :yay:

NOT Politically Correct!!
I'd say once Saddam hit the end of that rope, Bush pretty much won...

Oh and you're still an idiot!!!:coffee:

I always think it's worth mentioning that as much loved as Lincoln is today, he was hated by many, and at least enough by one to kill him, declaring him a tyrant as he did so.

Today we think such people were self-serving nitwits.

Any POS who calls himself an American and makes it a point to call Saddam Hussein ,President Hussein, and then another point to refer to an American President as merely Bush ,isnt fit to occupy the space he takes up in our country.

I placed this unAmerican slice of crap on Ignore so I wouldnt have to see his stupid posts and someone inevitably will quote the fool and get me pissed off.

Even the thought that slime like him would think of running for public is abhorrent.

God Bless America, God Bless our President, God save the US from fools such as this.
