Permanente Closings Begin

No one at a buffet is ever going to know what I want and what I don't want. Will they know I want a salad with mostly tomatoes and cukes? Hate ranch. Chick peas, yes. Sesame seeds yes. Croutons no. Dammit, by the time I describe it, I could have eaten it.

Cafeteria style is WORSE. It's how the do it at my agency - and I never go. Why? Just making a single sandwich means the moron at the front of the line will have them do it a slice at a time, smear the mustard ever so thoroughly. Just imagine the person in front of you having the person behind the counter assemble their plate in the slowest way imaginable - and multiply that by 20. I never go. There is ALWAYS one - and usually TEN - people who will get to the front of the line and do this - or worse - really trying to figure out WHAT they actually want, after waiting fifteen minutes in line.

Hell no.

This makes me think about a couple things.
What about getting coffee at 7-11 or Wawa? Lots of folks touching those coffee containers and all over the coffee stations.
How will casinos open up and operate, what with people moving from machine to machine? How do you clean between each patron?
I think people should realize this has been going on for years and no one hit the panic button. People need to get over their fear of a virus that 330M people don't have. If someone has an underlying condition then they should be the one worried about it and wipe it off before they use it because it is their health they should be worried about.

I cannot say that I don't agree with you. If you are frightened --carry your lysol with you..
It's like people who have food allergies. If you have a food allergy eat at home or find out what they season with before you go there.
My DIL calls before always because she is allergic to Latex . Some food servers still use latex instead of Nitrile.

We have had people come to our church dinners, where we serve seafood, and complain about the seafood. Then they piss and moan about the price. Our inside portion of our dinners are AYCE buffet so it’ll be interesting how this will work for church dinners.

Really?? Good grief, I got a carryout once and it was this mountain of food. I thought it was a great value.

It is a great value. One dinner is usually enough for two people. But you should see the ones at the buffet. I often wonder where they put it all.

I'm not a germophobe but used to be looked at as being one because I was careful about touching surfaces that dozens of others have touched before me. Like door handles, door knobs, light switches, hand railings, elevator buttons, coffee dispensers and condiment dispensers, grocery store baskets/carts, and on & on & on. I've always just been conscious and cautious. However, I also didn't like using hand santizers - only used them when hiking and/or regular handwashing wasn't available.

NOW, everyone wants to go super crazy overboard with all their sanitization methods and I look like I'm not very sanitation conscious.

Sounds like you work with a bunch of idiots.

I fondly remember Morrisons Cafeteria in south Florida when I was an impatient teenager.

I also remember this large ant struggling in the ham glaze and asking if the ant cost extra to the horror of the server.

That line moved rather quickly and they had a ton of choices.

I can't see how Golden Corral and similar buffet-style places will ever be able to operate again....

Just the idea of no more salad bars makes me sad...I've always been a big salad bar fan.

It sure looks like the long term effects of this are going to involve a lot of overreaction and overreach...
Is it still open? All the signs have been removed but the website still shows it's open.
