Personal Trainer

I'm not "all that" but I do try to take really good care of myself.

Besides, I'm married now and I'm about to enter my thirties so it takes a little more effort on my part to maintain my appearance than in the past. Extra help is a good thing. I welcome all the extra help I can get.

How Ironic...

I don't care. I love him. I love love love him. Besides - he can chop you in half with a sword, shoot you with a bullet, or let you run at him full tilt where he can smack you down to the ground and then sing you a song. He don't need no exercise.

He's my husband's favorite.I once said "your girlfriend is on tv" and he said "stop it, I don't have a - hey is that Steven Seagal? Sweet!"

...and he sat down and watched the rest of the rest of the movie.

(for the record, despite my forum name and my husband's love for him, I do not look like Steven Seagal).

See I'm the opposite, I can't stand working out with a bunch of other people, too many distractions in a big box gym. Plus you don't have to deal with judgemental asses that think they are the be all and end of all of physical exercise and insist that you are doing not enough reps or you have bad form yada yada. My 3 yr old likes to bring his toys into the gym and play with them in there so I feel your "dogs on the yoga mat" pain.

Your dogs, -"But Mommy, you ARE doing downward dog."

I'm the same way, I like to work out at home first thing in the a.m. I've been using Skimble on my phone and it's helped me lose 10lbs. since Jan 1. :yahoo:

When I see your name I always think of Homer Simpson. Doh!
However, I never thought you looked like him. :lmao:

I say that every time I eat a donut just like Homer Simpson....which is actually extremely rare but happened to happen the day I picked my name. I didn't plan on it backfiring when I started a thread genuinely asking about personal training.

I'm not very creative :ohwell:

I just ate a cupcake that had both an Oreo AND a Reese's peanut butter cup inside. Someone should have warned me. Now I can't eat again until Sunday.

It was glorious.

I haven't had sugar in months...I kind of feel like punching you:boxing:
:lmao: I totally understand! I give up sugar every now and then. It makes me a mean, mean girl.

Now the ads I see when I sign on to the forum are Jillian Michaels "How big is your weight-loss goal?" Great.

Personal Training

Hi there. I understand your frustration with getting set up with a personal trainer at World Gym. I am a personal trainer myself. I do in-home personal training in the Southern Maryland area. I have been in the industray for over 6 years now. I hold a nationally recognized personal training certification and have a bachelor's and master's degree in exercise science. I work full time as Fitness Coordinator at Asbury Solomons Island and do the in-home personal training on the side. If you are interested in a free consultation to find out how I can get you to your fitness goals shoot me and e-mail. somdhomefitness@gmail.com. My name is Sara.

I'm getting pretty frustrated. I've put my name on the list at World gym in Wildewood three times. The first two times no one called. The last time someone DID call back and we played phone tag for a while but never actually got to talk to each other. My husband picked out a personal trainer from the list on their website so I called the Lexington Park gym and was told he'd call us back. He never called. I called back and another person told me that trainer had gone back to school and wasn't working with them anymore. I explained that I was getting pretty frustrated with this so he told me he'd leave my name and number for a supervisor or owner or someone but AGAIN no one called.

Would someone please help me find a personal trainer? Or at least help me figure out how to find one on my own? Signing up at the gym and waiting just doesn't seem to be working for me.

Look for personal training studios in your area. You usually dont have to sign up to a long term contract, the training is better in most cases and its in a private environment.

Thanks for the advice. I actually met up with Sara, the above poster and personal trainer, and I've been working with her for about a month. I am very pleased with what we've got going on. She comes to me and brings her own equipment. She is flexible and works well with my weird schedule. I'm seeing results. I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth.
