PGPD PGPD Investigating Weekend Homicide in Unincorporated Laurel

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working to determine the circumstances of a fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Laurel Saturday night. The victim is 27-year-old Ismael Westry of Hyattsville.

On September 25, 2021, at 9:50 pm, officers responded to the 14300 block of Baltimore Avenue for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located the victim inside of a car that had crashed. Westry was suffering from gunshot wounds and transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect(s) in this case.
