Phoebe has lost weight

My cat Tasha seemed to have lost weight over night and we took her in to the vet and she had a couple of things wrong. But one caused the other.
They examined her and discovered she has kidney disease and then they discovered she had a heart murmur. They said that the murmur was most likely caused from the kidney disease. She is only 3 and she was diagnosed at 2. They gave her up to 5-7 yrs to live. But now she is very healthy and her murmur has gone and she seems to be doing fine. We are very diligent on giving her her meds and in fact she reminds me every night that its time because she wants her treats.
Most likely its nothing serious, but don't rule out the bad things either so you are prepared for it. Goodluck with your kitty!

so apparently Phoebes Mommy is just paranoid. The vet checked her out and said she has a very strong heart iwth a strong beat, felt her kidneys and they felt great, gave her a tummy massage and said everything felt great there, stuck a thermometer up her butt and her temp was great, then (and Mommy did not want this!) but they stuck a big stick up her butt for a fecal, and that came back negitive for everything, and she was wonderful the entire time. So, were thinking its just some stress from moving. Were going to keep a close eye on her weight, and if she stablizes everything should be fine, if she drops more weight then we will get more testing done. But right now she seems in puuuurrrrrfect health 
The vet bill was totally worth the peace of mind. And Momm ygave her many treats when she got home. For the weight, we are going to start giving her wet food in addition to her normal dry food. Thanks to everyone for their help, concern, and stories

.... keep an eye on her LOLbut good for you for picking up on the few pounds... most pet owners wait till the pet has lost LOTS of weight and then "just" notice.

LOL ... I did that with my one Bloodhound... she was a chunky monkey when she was a pup and "huskey"... so I cut back on her food so she was not "over weight"
well turned out that I went over board on that and turned her into the "swim suit model" for Bloodhounds..... Really when was the last time you saw ribs and a waist line on a Bloodhound!
I called her all those names as well... fatty, chunk, lard-o
weeellllll when she got on the scale and was only 68lb... I thought my vet was gonna fly over the table and punch me
SO LET THE FEEDING BEGIN!!!! Now she is a healthy 85 lbs....
She is now understanding it ok to have a shape!!! She is the spokes person for getting over her anorexicia!! LOL
Im just use to having GSD... and they should be thin!!!

she is a working dog - NOT A PET .... you have pets! She cant be overweight to do her job.

my 2 cats are free fed. My dog on the other hand isn't she has dry food in the morning for 30min if she eats great if not it goes back down in the evening for 30min and if she eats great if not she will go hungry til the next day. lastnight i walked away from my apt for 30min and came back and the dogs bowl was licked clean but that was after she hadn't eaten for almost 2 full days except for some dehydrated chicken.
I also think it could be that she has really bad yeast infections in both ears that shes being cranky and not wanting to eat. But today i been just sitting with her and letting her lay down next to me as she keeps making the sounds as if shes going to puke but she hasn't so far. her ears are still really red they have to hurt her. This am she only let me clean one ear before she ran from me. I think i am going to have to do the cleaning at night when shes pooped out that way i can get both cleaned without a fight being picked. she didn't object to me putting meds in her ears though which was great i think she now knows this stuff is going to help her ears feel better.
