Not knockin anyone because ALL the pictures were great...BUT....How are you going to judge mutiple entries....Some peeps had 3,4,5 or even 6 of the same thing...Which one do you judge? Again, not trying to start anything but wifey and I took over 200 pictures on Saturday and I just about pulled what little hair I have left out trying to pick the best one...I think 150 of them were of the Amish....:lmao: All in all, it really amazed me as to how we all thought alike and a lot of the pictures were almost the same...I know we had a good time Saturday just trying to figure what to take pics of....Lots of deserted houses in the county too...:lmao: (Housing market slump)

Isn't digital photography great? Never would have taken that many pictures with film. However I remember doing a wedding some years ago and went through like 10 rolls of 36 exposure film.

Oldest church??? Here's what I found out today while doing some research on another subject. St. Francis Xavier Church (Newtown). Original church built in 1662, current church is about 1/3 mile South of the original site and was built in 1767. Ref: MARYLAND HISTORICAL TRUST (Historic Sites Survey) MSA SE5. Christ Episcopal Church, Chaptico was built in 1736. Ref: MARYLAND HISTORICAL TRUST (Historic Sites Survey) MSA SE5 Interesting note...Philip Key (grandfather of Francis Scott Key) was the construction supervisor.

Note:Maryland Historical Trust Maryland Historical Trust has a lot if interesting sites in the register. Click on the MHT Inventory on the left side menu, next proceed to the MHT Inventory search at the bottom center of the page, then which county on the window that pops up.

We'll go to the track on a weekend and wifey will take 2 to 300 pictures...We'll go through them and just keep the good ones....That's how you get good pictures IMO....Take a bunch and delete the rest....

Actually...
St. Francis Xavier Church in Newtowne was built in 1731, the brick semi-octangonal portion in the front was built in 1767. St Francis Xavier Church

Christ Church was indeed built in 1736. Christ Episcopal Church, King & Queen Parish

**and because we weren't sure who would believe which sites Loper and I took pictures of ALL of the old churches. :lmao:

Both are on the National Historic Register, Dept. of the Interior. With the previous dates given. From your reference .....a new chapel with no external adornment indicating its religious intent was built in 1731. A building was built, not a church?:duel:
