I hate it!

I finally figured out how to resize pix for emailing, Hit save as, rename it, choose the location and enter. When I go to look they aren't there.

I usually just add sm (small) or cr (crop) to the end of the file name and leave it in the same directory. Make sure you aren't changing the file type (.jpg to .bmp, etc) when you save it, that can cause problems finding the pic when you're attaching the file.

I still like Picasa for quick edits. Fix the picture with simple button clicks, then hit the 'Export' button to reduce it's size without altering the original.

Yep, I am putting them back in the same file and I just add a 1 or 2 to the and and they stay jpg. I may have to read the manual.

I would suggest saving it to the desktop... I do that with all of my images for quick find, and then I transfer them to a folder later.

I finally figured out...
Or maybe you didn't. I would take GW's advice and use a more basic program. Unless you are really editing the image, save yourself the headache and use something other than Ps.

As to the images you have already done: is it possible you have not been saving them to the folder you think you did? Did you do a 'Find' to locate them?

I guess I could have another file named 100Canon somewhere, I'll have to go look.

And yeah for just resizing something like Microsoft picture manager would be great. Maybe I can download that.

Go to CNET.com and download PIXresizer. It is very useful and lets you select the end size of the file.

I recently found free software called shrink pic that you can download to your computer to shrink the size of your photos for emailing purposes. It can be turned off if you want to send full size photos. You won't have to keep the little photos if you don't want to, but you can go to your sent mail and download them if you want to. I always do a "save as", and change the name of the smaller photo with the extra tag blog or email, etc. so I know it isn't the original size.

Check out Shrink Pic - Free photo resizer for email, IM, blogging and web galleries
