Avoid the ones made with pressure treated lumber. The wood has been treated with arsenic. Not really something you want to eat on.

Definitely not, nor sit on. I'm pretty sensitve to chemicals and avoid touching pressure treated lumber if I can.

That shouldn't be too hard to find, as that is how they are usually made...:yay:

Where's a good place to buy a couple of them? I would probably need them delivered as they won't fit in my little car.

I tried Lowe's - they have a good price of about $70 each but the delivery charge was outrageous. I just want the standard wooden one-piece ones in a natural color. TIA!
...but what about soliciting the Amish to build some for you? Probably better quality than anything you would be able to purchase elsewhere. :yay:

She wants one with pressure treated lumber for the frame, but untreated lumber for the table top portion.

Exactly. :yay: Anything that contacts the ground needs to be treated so it doesn't rot but I don't want the sitting or eating surfaces made out of it.

That's why I was posting this - to see if anyone knows anybody who builds them. I don't know any of the Amish and figured there was someone out there who would know them and others who sell picnic tables. I'm just soliciting information on who has them and doing some comparison shopping.

Sure am, Kenny-boy. I know what I want and I demand the best. :wench:
Are you going to paint or stain and seal these tables yourself?

Of course, if it's not already done. I've stained and sealed more fence and other things than I want to remember, so a couple of picnic tables will be a breeze.

Lowes had those pre-assembled. I wanted one until I saw how big those suckers were. Spent a little more for patio furniture instead...

Isn't there a guy on Rt 5 just north of Winter's Sheet Metal that has a picnic table business. Maybe he could build what you want, I don't know if he delivers or not.
