Pine Tree's Cut Down

I need to have 5 large pine trees cut down and hauled away. I don't want to pay an arm and leg for them. I've been quoted $900 per tree, but was hoping to get a better offer with cash in hand. Can someone recommend a licensed contractor that's done good work and the prices were resonable?

It is high IF...you don't have everything hauled away by them and also if no crane is required to take them down.

I paid 500 to have very large pine just dropped and cut up and left lay where they cut it... Never let them take the wood from here but I know that adds a good bit to the cost.

Dont be afraid to try to jew them down on price. When I first moved here I need a few (3) trees cut down. First guy quoted me 700. then the next guy said 400, the the 3rd guy I told him the other prices and he cut them down hauled them away and ground stumps for 350.00.

You can try them (many forumites have recommended them) but he wouldn't travel to Huntingtown when I called a couple months ago. In fact, I had a lot of difficulty getting companies to come up to mid Calvert. We used Booth Specialized Tree Services, 301-399-7045 (Anthony Watson). They were quick to get here and really reasonable. They were recommended by our insurance agent.

Diesel fuel ain't't free you know. These guys running small businesses like this still have to pay all their company bills and the household bills. So remember that when trying to "Jew someone down".
