Birth control pills are a form of abortion. Sperm can still fertilize the egg. In most cases the egg typically doesn't attach itself to the uterine wall. Those that have gotten pregnant on pills will know they do not work 100%.

thats one of the stupidest slants i have every read on abortion, you aren't alone in that opinion, but that doesn't mean it isn't stupid.

i didn't call anyone stupid, i said that considering the BC pill a form of abortion is stupid. you have to be pregnant to have an abortion, the BC pill PREVENTS pregnancy.
please go back to discussing other peoples personal information on the forums.

That's your definition. The actual medical definition, from Stedman's Medical dictionary, is:
"The expulsion of an embryo or fetus before it is viable."
If it is expelled prior to becoming viable, it is an abortion.

A birth control pill prevents the egg from attaching to the uterine wall. A BC pill "fakes" your body into thinking it is already pregnant. Sperm can fertilize an egg while on BC pills (pregnancy). The fertilized egg can be flushed with a menstrual cycle.

i am saying an abortion terminates a pregnancy. if you are never pregnant then you have nothing to abort.
i will agree the egg has been fertilized, but pregnancy talks about the condition of the woman. an unattached egg does not casue pregnancy in a woman, only an attached and fertilized egg will.
