Good idea, but it won't really catch on until they don't give bags away. If the stores would charge for bags maybe.Roughidle said:Paper or Plastic? You decide...

Styrofoam is bad, but I have yet to see one hanging way up in a tree or entangled around a bird.baileydog said:I like plastic, it lets me carry lots of groceries all at once. If we go back to paper, I'll be spending half of Saturday hauling in grocerys from the car. Who cares if theyre bio degradable. You want to pick on something, lets talk about the restauants styrofoam containers. What ever happened to a paper doggie bag.

SO what I get from this, is outlawing plastic bags will do nothing and actually hurt the environment if instead we use paper bags. The only good will come if we ban both paper and plastic and force consumers to use reusable bags. WOW, Germany has had it right for the past 30 or 40 years..Roughidle said:Paper or Plastic? I think their reason, though, is to save petroleum. You have to make up your mind folks, save a tree or save a barrel of oil.

We reuse our plastic bags for all sorts of things - wastebasket liners, scooping the catbox, lunch bags, etc. I hope they don't get rid of them.
