Before sentencing Ricky Lackey, Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Melba Marsh asked him a seemingly innocent question: "how many children do you have." The 25-year-old replied, "[n]one, but I have six on the way." Dumbfounded, Judge Marsh sought clarification by asking, "Are you marrying a woman with six children?" To which Lackey responded, "No, I be concubining." His lawyers then attempted to shut him up. According to prosecutors though, Lackey, a record producer by trade, is expecting six children from six different mothers, all due between August and October.
