Yes, it's against the UCMJ, and she's not the first.flomaster said:Personally don't care that she did it because too each his/her own is my belief but if you are going to represent the armed forces of the United States by using and disgracing your uniform in a playmate spread then you get what you got coming to you.
I have a friend who always sez, if you are going to be stupid, then you better be tough!!!
She appeared in uniform, which is against the rules. I don't have any problem with what she did, but as a sergeant, she knows what the rules are, and what the punishment will be. She deserves what she gets.desertrat said:Army sergeant in trouble for posing in Playboy.
So you can get your a$$ shot off, but not shown off?

At least she was hot enough to use this and not having to resort to getting pregnant like many of the ones I had in my division.chernmax said:Maybe she received deployment orders to Iraq and this was her ticket out???

She knew she wasn't supposed to when she came in. She knew she is not allowed to wear the uniform in that fashion. Not everyone thinks playboy is wholesome entertainment, so it cannot be acceptable for members of the armed forces to pose, in uniform, in such a manner.BadGirl said:"This staff sergeant's alleged action does not meet the high standards we expect of our airmen, nor does it comply with the Air Force's core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do," Oscar Balladares, spokesman for Lackland Air Force Base, said in a statement
She's in the friggin AIR FORCE, she's not a nun!! Give it a rest..
"excellence in all we do.." If playboy wanted her to pose, I'd say she has the excellent part nailed.
But yanno, the military doesn't want you to make extra money either. If she makes enough she'll have no reason to re-enlist.

Coventry17 said:You act as if she only got in trouble because she was in uniform. Believe me, she'd have gotten slammed had she just been in lingerie. Pretty much everything imaginable can be found to violate the UCMJ.
ART. 134. GENERAL ARTICLE
Though not specifically mentioned in this chapter, all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, and crimes and offenses not capital, of which persons subject to this chapter may be guilty, shall be taken cognizance of by a general, special or summary court-martial, according to the nature and degree of the offense, and shall be punished at the discretion of that court.
This is the one they throw at you when they can't find anything you specifically did wrong, but someone in your chain of command doesn't like you.
I'll bet she makes out pretty well. She's already in the news, in Playboy and probably hangin' at the mansion.MMDad said:She appeared in uniform, which is against the rules.
