I believe it takes 2weeks for the cycle of life for lice. That's why they say bag the pillows/stuffed animals for 14days.
I've had this issue with my daughter - looooong hair!! It was horrible trying to comb.
We did her hair every 4 days till well past the 2weeks.
Everyone in the house used the shampoo every 4 days also.
When this happened I used it as an excuse to get rid of the stuffed animals and threw out all except the absolute favs.
I've been told that lice do not like tea tree extract or oil. If you put a drop or two in your shampoo bottles regularly it's supposed to keep them away.
Also - don't forget the car or car seat (don't know how old he is) I mixed water with a little of the shampoo and sprayed all the headrests.![]()
Ok what the h are the little mite things and the tick nymphs that MB mentioned? :cootiecity:
We shaved his head, did the shampoo treatment, washed EVERYTHING in hot water, put stuffed animals in a garbage bag in the garage, going to stay there for 4 weeks. My kids never had it THANK GOD..But a few years ago we had a scare..My daughter went on a camping trip with her girlscout troop. A week later I found out that one of the girls she shared a tent with had them : 0 I did alot of reading....I did read that you don't have to bother washing anything. If you have a boy just shave their heads..If you have a girl get all of the eggs out and then leave your house for 3 days..All lice will be dead and then just hope it never happens again...GOOD LUCK : )
BTW which school are we talking about![]()
I have that shampoo & conditioner for myself.I believe it takes 2weeks for the cycle of life for lice. That's why they say bag the pillows/stuffed animals for 14days.

The dr told me to put hair gel in the lil princess' hair so she doesn't get them, the lice can't lay the eggs on hair with "product" in it.Poor thing! Hope you get it taken care of![]()
you probably can't see this but I did the same thing, the mites weren't mites, they were tick nymphs or baby ticks (awwwww!MB, I love you dearly, but I may have to put you on ignore for the next two weeks. I've been scratching myself silly since reading this post.
I've never dealt with lice, but a little girl at daycare had lice about a month ago. I spent all weekend scratching while I washed everything in sight, just in case. So far none here.
My daughter did get those little mite things that burrow under your skin (she got them from Washington Hospital Center ICU! )
So, for the next month, ignore you go! :scratchscratchscratch:![]()

I just can't bring myself to touch them, I'm scared to death that I'll get them and if that happen I'm shaving my headThis is true. Oldest got them a couple years ago from a daycare. He was scratching his head one day, I looked at his scalp and saw nothing (this is probably because I don't wear the glasses I'm suppose to). I figured it was just dry scalp because it was winter and got him some tea tree oil shampoo. Got a call a month later from the school nurse. He's bumped his head at school and when she was checking him out there were a few dead nits stuck to his hair. Nothing live at all on his head but she told me that he'd had a mild case some time back (she could tell by how far the dead ones were stuck on the hair strands). The mother gorillia was a good analogy. After I got him home I picked every single one of those things out of his hair!
Just call me Sinead O'Connor if I get them.I had it when I was young. Hair down past my butt. My grandmother told me she was gonna shave my head![]()
That nit comb was definitely a PIA!
It wasn't scabiesscabies! ewwwwwwww
I didn't realize that they are very prevalent in hospitals/nursing homes etc (until she got them). I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised she got them from WHC with all the homeless people around there they treat.
Good lord, now I'm itchy again!![]()
