Anybody know information about the ferry that runs in the summer from Point Lookout to Smith Isalnd? When it starts running or where I can call for information? I can't find it on the Internet and the park is not answering the phone, and you can't leave a message.

Anybody want to bet that this_person comes on here looking to argue because he thinks this is another gay rights thread?

My wife & I used to travel between Pt Lookout & Smith Island every summer when we lived in SOMD . The boat trip over , Smith Island and the food at the Resturant were all great and were fond memories of MD we left behind. For a great Cheasapeake Bay boat trip , try the "Rudy T out of Crisfield to Norfolk VA !

walk around, buy tourist junk and sweat

:yeahthat: But you can always rent a golf cart to drive around!! It takes about 2 minutes to circuit the entire island. :ohwell: On the bright side, the biting flys tend to stay away as long as you're moving!!!

Actually, it's a nice cruise over, food is good, and it is neat to walk around. Hubby and I did it last summer.

Living in Maryland if this has to be explained (from their website) than I think I'll pass...

'The Maryland crab pot is an enclosed framework of wire with four openings where the crabs enter to eat the bait. When the crabs cannot leave the same way they entered, they float upward and go through the openings of the inner wire portion of the pot.' read more
