That does not surprise me. Everyone tries to be the latest and best in remaking the old, but no cigar. Calamine rocks! :dude:
Swim in a clorinated pool. The clorine dries out the poisin ivy. I used to get it all the time as a kid. And I mean all the time.

Let me do it, I can't get it.
never say you can't. my old man never got it either until one day he pulled some out and then ,BAM, full out break. Doc told him that over time of handling this stuff you immunity breaks down and then it starts affecting you. I think he wound up getting a shot to help make it go away.

I had the same thing happen to me, while I was hacking around some poison ivy on our property.
I went to the naval air station medics for help, because the rash was so huge on the inside of my wrists/forearms.
The doc gave me a shot- some kind of steriods - I think it was, then benadril cream and pills.
It was gone in about 10 days.

Round up &...

Old woman I worked for years ago bought rock salt...mixed it in a slurry and had me pour it over weeds in a gravel bed-DEAD.

I also violated several EPA standards in my youth mixing diesel with Brush killer and spraying it along fence lines.

Just tried Roundup on my poison ivy..but I suspect it did NOT do the trick-(label says keep over 55 degress and it was in the shed all winter.)
The key Salt of Glyophosate in the round up is what bursts the cells...the higher the concentrate, and the leaves need to absorb moisture...the deader they are when they suck in the salt.
DON'T waste your time with a weak glyophosate solution...make sure it is "Farm-Usage"...(42%....not 14%) and that will kill everything you need dead.
Soil Sterilants are too pricey and likely need permits to use.
anyway....knowledge from years of paying my way through college.

In My Opinion
I never was affected by it at all.
now, If I have a cut or a scratch and it gets into that, it will break out along that scratch line.
Other than that, Im still good with it.

now, try cutting the smaller leave groups and boiling them in water, then after they have boiled down, put them in a white sauce with garlic and some chopped onion.

makes a great meal that people will just die over.
