As a cop, wouldn't you stop and think before you went in someone's home like this for really no good reason, "a lot more bad could come of this than good" ?
:yeahthat: I know there are plenty of Darwin candidates out there but c'mon.

This doesn't surprise me in the least  Cops come from the same gene pool as everybody else. There are just as many stoopid cops as there are stoopid plumbers, stoopid engineers, etc...

This is the problem with the legitimized use of force.
The government can get away with whatever it wants (like trespassing).
The people need to realize that the police are flesh and bone humans just like the rest of us and are not entitled to trespass (just like the rest of us).

I hear what you're saying.

But, if you come into my house unannounced, in the middle of the night, you're going to get 2 center mass.
Good for you. :)

I am well aware. I post on this kind of stuff constantly.

There was no use of force. The dummys just walked in.

They are doing something to someone's property (his land) without the owner's permission (walking on it). I think it's pretty clear they weren't welcome.

I got what you were saying but I think it is more accuratley described as "abuse of power" rather than "force" as it is defined in this situation.

I can't be called a great fan of cops but I think these cops did the right thing. Doors not just unlocked but open, young children on a sleepover. The cops banged on the door got no response from the adults, the kids however did wake up and respond but were too scared to wake Dad, so popo woke him instead. IMO dad is a jackass...did he get so drunk that he forgot to even close the door tho he had 4 kids younger than 7 sleeping over?

How about just lock the door then and be on your way, leave a note if you feel compelled.

You don't see how this could of turned out bad for everyone involved? The police have no right to enter someone's home under these circumstances.
