Texas Bill HB366 aimed to jail people for Political Memes

“Let him finish his comment about my forehead.”

“If someone makes your forehead larger than it should be, I don't think they should be subject to jail time for that… this is an overreach.

We're talking about political memes and I don't like it, but this bill goes too far.”

"Listen to how badly They want to jail Americans over Memes in Texas…

Democrats allowed millions of illegal alien criminal cartels into the US, and they're afraid to be criticized for doing it."

HB366 - Jailing Americans over Memes

“This body led an attack on Attorney General Paxton… and we're doing the very same thing with this legislation.

“The courts will strike this down, and the Texas Ethics Commission should not be the arbiter of truth and language.”

All the crying over an alleged 1st Amendment violation is absurd. No one is being prevented from using an AI altered ad, they are just being told if you do it you must disclose that it isn't reality. Disclosure requirements have already withstood judicial scrutiny and are allowed.

Do they for political ads? All this law does is criminalize non-disclosure of such fakes. If it is disclosed as being a fake has defamation actually occurred?

That's the problem with AI artwork, some look almost real. Picture of Waltz drinking from a horse, fake or real? Is this a rider on AI porn revenge?
