For some reason, the mods love Clinton.

Vrai and Larry, you can blame Clinton for helping turning politics into a religion. As I've said before, people either love Clinton or hate him. Because of that, almost every political question became a debate about him. He and Hillary insisted on making themselves the issue, and made fools of themselves doing it. (Hey Hillary, Richard Mellon Scaife's billions do not constitute a "right-wing conspiracy.") And they didn't care that their antics were tearing the country apart. At least Nixon knew when it was time to take himself out of the picture.

Republicans want to help people when they are down
You are right. They want to help keep them down too otherwise we all might find out what a mess they are creating of our civil rights!

For example? (I have written that phrase at least a hundred times on this forum and so far no one will answer me) Plus that, it's not Republicans that the "down" people are voting for, now is it? So WHO has a vested interest in keeping people "down"?

Jet, when you post you'll see a little window on the left that has smilies in it. Click "Get More" to see the whole list, then just click the one you want to insert it.

Thought for today

Maybe it's not so much "politics as religion", but "capitalism as politics", and capitalism is the religion.

Not sure where this goes- just off the top of my head.
