Too late for the poll but I used to do a lot of scale modeling. It was mostly aircraft. I even have a couple of planes at the pax river museum (an intruder and skyraider). Since my new addiction (golf) has taken hold, I haven't been too active. I have an unfinished Intruder on the workbench and about 10 models unopened in boxes. I keep saying that I'm going to get started again but we'll see...(had a scale mile racing layout in a townhouse (IN THE LIVING ROOM -- I HAVE THE GREATEST WIFE IN THE WORLD!). I also built a larger layout in our old basement but I dismantled it when we moved into the new house. Both layouts were complete with pit areas, mountains, tunnels, water, etc.

I was into scale model airplanes and HO rail back in elementary and junior high school. Probably built at leats a good 15-20 altogether...with paint and the works...and I remember saving up a bunch of birthday and christmas money to buy myself an HO starter kit when I was in either 5th or 6th grade. Then my dad gave it away when he moved after I joined the Navy.

Building those scale model airplanes (mostly WWII aircraft) started my love for aircraft. Taught me a LOT of patience too at that young of an age.

Yup, they'll do that!

My folks gave away all of my HO stuff, too. Having a son got me back into it, though. :lmao:
