I don't think that that precludes you from following DNR rules and regulations. Even though it's a private farm, you can't hunt deer out of season unless you have a crop damage permit. I would imagine that fishing laws are much the same. The only thing that ownership does for you is allow you to hunt/fish without purchasing a permit. You still have to follow seasons and bag limits.

I think you can catch the fish whenever you want in a private pond but taking deer is a different story, Think you would need a crop damage permit to harvest deer out of season; Fish On !!!!

I don't think you can compare it to deer or any other game since they are migratory. Those fish aren't gonna be leaving the pond to go somewhere else! So private pond on your own property, keep what you want!
