Poop eater

I clean the poop up in the yard on a regular schedule and noticed that I wasn't picking up as much as I use too.
So I spied and found the culprit.
Our new addition is eating the other dogs poop.

$hit.
Now what?

My Pup did the same thing, but eventually grew out of it (I think!) If it's a real problem, ask the Vet. There are a lot of things on the Market that might help. A Friend of mine, gave her Dogs Garlic in their food, and she said that worked for them.

Word of advice: quit letting her kiss you on the lips.

Mine will do the same thing:cds:. I scoop everyother day.. Haven't found anything that works, and no they do not out grow this. Lab is 9 yrs and the Shih Tuz is a 1 yr... Pineapple in the food does not work either...

Coprophagia

It's called: Coprophagia

There are products you mix into their food that make the poop less appetizing to the eater. What can be less appetizing than poop you night say? LOL

Check with Peppers Pet Pantry, they probably carry something for this.

I have heard of many home remedies for this including pineapple. I honestly don't know what works. Or course, whayt does work fro one dog may not work for another. We do not carry anything for it. Maybe ICit or Cattitude will chime in since they have such extensive knowledge of animal issues and solutions.

The wife is stopping by your store (Callaway) today to see if you all had anything.
I will let her know that you don't, when she gets back.

One home remedy is meat tenderizer, and many years ago it made the dog very sick for some reason, and we had to take her to the vet. I agree that remedies will vary in effectiveness from dog to dog. There are commercial products sold that are added to food, not sure what they contain.

Lol.. yep issues!

My one dog did that for a while.. still will once and a while...
he did is because the other dog was the alpha male... now that the roles have changed that has almost stopped.

They all were feed the same food..... so not like he was lacking any vitamins

I hate to ask, but how did the dog have access to human poo? Did somebody forget to scoop? :jameo:

We were at the base lake at Andrews in the fall and the restrooms were closed. Someone took a dump in a pile of leaves in the breezeway. I didn't see it until he was eating it. :barf:
