Poor Little Bella...

Just talked to a lady with SMAWL and she is going to contact her dog people. She has told me that they will do an intake on her and then she can stay with me until she finds a new home and that they will provide her the medical attention she needs if she requires further attention after she sees my vet today. I feel good in my heart that I saved this little dog. Now somebody go on and get the Burmese Mountain dog the same woman has. She is giving him away for free. I wonder if he is as matted up as this little one was? I didn't see him yesterday and she didn't even mention him to me. If I had he would have been in my car too. I have got to quit trying to save the world. At least thats what my hubby keeps telling me. :frown:

The Burmese is going into one of the rescue groups this weekend and has an appointment for next week to be vetted and neutered and will be up for adoption afetr that.

Ok, here's the story. I have been watching Bella. She acts as if it hurts to sit. Here back feet stay dampish all the time, and she is licking herself a lot more then normal dogs do. I'm thinking bladder problems. I have put in a call to SMAWL and asked for help to get her the medical attention she needs and have offered to go ahead and foster her til they can place her. But at this time I am not financially able to take care of a major problem. My vet charges out the nose for these things and I only have a couple hundred dollars left on my charge with this vet. I cannot afford to pay directly out of pocket for the dog to see anyone else and that includes the Well Pet Clinic. I know I should not have answered the ad but there was just something pulling at me to go and check this dog out. I'm glad I did! She was filthy and covered in matts. Anyway, I need the help of my fellow forumites to find her either the help she needs or a new home with someone that can afford to get her treated, or like I said before, I can foster her while she gets the medical help she needs and then we can find her a home after that. I will be back in a bit to check for posts, I have to make my daily drive to Leonardtown High school. :howdy:

It could be allergies. My dog does that, I give her 1 bendryl 2x@day, that is what my vet recommended. Poo can be normal and still have problem with anal gland, with her size external is easy to do. Paso can tell you how. She is cute. If I could have another dog I would take her.

Well, due to circumstances beyond my control I did not get a hold of anyone at the Well Pet Clinic about this dog til yesterday. They have never heard of her. Why does this not surprise me? Anyway, its all good anyway, because she is acting totally normal now. She is not squatting like she was and she is running around the back yard with my dogs playing and guarding the house with an iron fist! SMAWL called me this morning to tell me the board is meeting and that they will give me a decision about her soon. They also said that since she is behaving normally now that will definitely help her case in their meeting. Keep your fingers crossed! :howdy:

No, I didn't but she did. I just found out this woman is a hair dresser too! :yikes: After seeing what kind of butcher job she did to this dog, there ain't no way she would touch my hair! :nono:

Ok, so I've been procrastinating. I finally got Bella's matts off her legs. Paso this cheap azz thing I got at Petco basically did one leg and said I quit! :tantrum So I ended up scissoring her legs. That actually went a lot easier then using the clippers :ohwell: This poor dog even had a matt on her um, well, her thing! I had 3 people holding her while I scissored around that cause I definitely did not want any accidents on that area! It's not a beautiful haircut but it has to feel better! By the way I am not the one that did the hack job on her ears. I think my legs came out way better then that ladies ear job! :lmao: Anyway, here are the pics I promised Paso!

OH I almost forgot! She has an appt. Sat to see SMAWL's vet just to get a well check and then she will be put on petfinder. I am so glad they are going to help me help her!

Got Bella checked out by the vet today, all is good! She is in perfect health! I guess this means they can officially list her for adoption.
