I don't know robin but there is a thread called porkchop teh aggressive dog and you can see a lot going on in that thread with name and finger pointing. You would have to ask in there if anyone knows.

Not yet, but he under the protection of a rescue. He's being temperament tested again as well as other things.

He's out and safe, now we will begin looking for a new forever home as well as working with Boxer Rescue to accomplish this. He's not an issue dog, just needs an experienced home.

Hopefully this is the end of the Pork Chop threads until we can post about his new home.

how can you even say that when the previous owner had AGGRESSION ISSUES with this dog?

hopefully the next thread wont be started by the next PC owner about how porkchop attacked again, and wondering why they were never made aware of his history

Krazed Kat,
Great job getting Pork Chop out of the shelter. Best of luck getting him into the perfect forever home with knowledgeable owners. :huggy:

will the experiences of the previous owners be disclosed in any way to the new owners?

Any information we ever have on a dog/cat is disclosed when a potential adopter is interested. Hiding information isn't beneficial to the dog or potential new owners. If negative info is withheld, there's more likelihood that the dog/cat will end up back in the shelter or rescue system, so full disclosure is necessary. If we had a cat that threw up every time it ate, a cat that sometimes missed the litter box, or if it attacked legs from under the bed, that would be disclosed too. Same for dogs.

then why would karzd kat have said:
He's not an issue dog,

mike and bay's experience would counter that assertion

I do not believe he is an issue dog IN THE RIGHT HANDS.

Like Softball said, we disclose everything we know about an animal to any potential owner.

Judging from how long some of our dogs have been in rescue, I am quite comfortable in saying that we always err on the side of caution. "IF" I even suspect an animal might have an issue with something I discuss that with the adopter and cover all the scenarios.

My personal foster dogs are not around children on a daily basis, so chances are extremely good, that I won't adopt one of these dogs to someone with kids or someone that has kids around alot (like grandparents), not because I don't trust the dog, but because I don't want to take that risk with someone's family (purely due to an unknown) or at the risk of one of my dogs winding up in the shelter or back in rescue, and by the way, that includes ANY of my foster dogs, labs, small mixes, or my pits.

Seriously, I believe what happened at Mike's house could have been prevented, I do not think it was the right house for the dog (hindsight is usually 20/20) and now the dog is going to have to carry that past with him to everyone he meets.

Any of you that would like to meet members of my group, from volunteers to board members to the officer's and ask us any questions on how we make adoptions and how we handle issues with any dogs, is more than welcome to come to an event and talk to us or call me anytime to ask. I have published my phone number on this board a number of times.

I am also going to make one more statement, I do not believe that a dog should have to die for OWNER/human error and stupidity. If that means that dog lives in a qualified foster home for the rest of it's life, then that is what will happen.

from what mike and bay have said, in none of the cases was owner stupidity an issue. what was an issue was porkchop chasing down a smaller animal and attacking it.

it is obvious from your posts that you intend to continue to ignore mike and bays experinece, dismissing it as their fault. i seriously hope that your group's inability to accept that this dog has a problem doesn't lead to someone losing a pet, or worse.

And yet, you are more than willing to ignore others who have met and worked with the dog longer than 4 weeks. You know nothing more about the dog than rest of us who have not met him. You just have nothing better to do than troll threads to stir up shait.
