Ok, after learning more about the UAE port deal, I didn't care too much about it (although, I definitely understad Larry/Vrai's positions). Now there's this one...

U.S. Hiring Hong Kong Co. to Scan Nukes
The administration acknowledges the no-bid contract with Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. represents the first time a foreign company will be involved in running a sophisticated U.S. radiation detector at an overseas port without American customs agents present.
WTF!

This is absolutely unacceptable! Putting a foreign company in charge of scanning for nukes! :jameo: :smack: Are these people :dork:

It just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?

Not just that, but a foreign company with very strong ties to the Chinese Communist government!

This is one stupid plan.

I think there's a legitimate security concern. I can imagine the Beijing regime planting moles in the Hong Kong company to dig for vulnerabilities or classified information.

Man... It is incomprehensible to me to allow foreign control of any US port of entry. The clue question is given here.... who let this contract and by whose authority? Has compensation taken place and out of which office?...

If it's Hong Kong, it doesn't have "ties" to the chinese gov't, it's a Chinese City, it is Chinese.
