Potential Disney Disaster

We're planning a trip to Disney - kind of a spur of the moment thing. Got tickets to a show on Feb 25th that we thought was sold out in Orlando so we're going to just make a week or two of it. Here are my choices :

#1 : Go President's Day week, ending with the show day.
#2 : Go after PD week,start w/the show day.Will have four menstrually
synced females in tow due to erupt that very week.

I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. Everything I read says it will be crowded as hell with option 1. Every fiber of my being says this will be a fighting, ibuprofen laden nightmare of bathroom stops with option 2. Anyone out there been during this time frame (PDW,not on the rag) and how bad is it really??

P.S. For your too much information needs,my wife has a hellish cycle of pain, rage, and profuse flooding. It won't be a fun drive for anyone.

I'd go with option 1, that's from a female's perspective (I'd rather deal with the crowds than the other). Bright side, either option, the weather should be spectacular.

We're leaning that way - I feel like if these chicks is doubled over in pain and bleeding like crazy I'm going to be delayed getting a turkey leg and that doesn't seem fair.

Where is Geek??? Isn't that the resident Disney expert???

Funny, I'm an hour from there and have never been. Been to Universal and Seaworld tons of times, just never had the urge to go to Disney. Hope whatever you choose it all works out and you and your family have a great time.

We've been to Universal once, but never Sea World. Planning to go there this time around, though. Disney is 1,700.00 JUST FOR TICKETS.

Seaworld is much cheaper although not nearly as big as Disney, but the shows are well worth the price. Our next trip will be Discovery Cove, which is quite a bit more than Seaworld.

We are doing Discovery Cove, although I'm going to wait until the last minute when we're there to reserve a day. I want to check the weather - I think it might be too cold to really enjoy it.

I wouldn't worry a even a little about the crowds. Been there July 4th week and we did everything on our list and then some. It just takes some planning ahead.

You have not seen crowds until you venture into Orlando the week between Christmas and New Years. Disney was to the point of stupid, we are talking lines in the 4-6 hour wait time range and parks at full capacity by 12PM. Lucky for us at Epcot on New Years Eve, they lift the capacity limit and just cram people in, we left around 9 pm due to the amount of people. At least it was warm.

On another note, we always rent a house. Price is usually around $750 for the week, has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and its own pool.

That sounds like a big waste of money - which is exactly what I'm afraid of doing. It isn't fun at that point. Funniest thing about all of this is my wife just had a doctors appointment where they were talking about her fibroids and how she needs surgery - she has become anemic from her cycles being so severe - and when asked does her period affect her life or make her change plans she said no. Wish she'd just have the surgery, but she's scared.

I needed up needing emergency transfusions and surgery due to fibroids. Be careful. :huggy: for your wife. I feel her pain.

She only has one,and it is a little bigger than a peanut M&M according to the dr. But they say it is the worst kind - a submucosal. And they say it is in a bad location, right at the top of the uterus. We've had some times where we've been on the fence about going to the e.r. because she is so lightheaded. But she always just hobbles around the house with a heating pad and says as long as she can function (walk and talk) she's fine.

When I passed out at work, I knew it was time for a trip to the ER. I got 3 units in the ER. I tried telling my doctor I was bleeding to death, they didn't belive me until I showed up in the ER. :coffee:

Wow...she's never passed out, just lightheaded/dizzy feeling. She always says she just needs to drink so she carries water everywhere she goes. I think this is one of those things where she'll deal with it when she gets to point where she has to.

My wife actually had a conversation where the doctor told her she only thinks it is alot of blood, and that it really isn't as bad as she says it is. That it is an optical illusion caused by the blood mixing with the toilet water, and they offered her a script for an anti-anxiety drug. She got so pissed that during her next period she took some pretty explicit pictures of some of the worst of it,and took them in. It looked like a bunch of crime scene photos.:faint:

I topped her. I took in my clots to show them I wasn't lying. TMI

I showed this to my wife and she loved it. She always felt like she was regarded as the crazy patient when they wouldn't believe her. It was really infuriating,we'd go back and forth - they would tell her she wasn't really bleeding that bad and then in the same sentence ask if she wanted surgery.
I think we're going to go on the trip early and brave the crowds. Maybe it will be a little reverse psychology - everyone is told not to go during that week so nobody goes?!
