Going to start potty training my little one next month..she will be 20 months and I think that is a good time to start. Can anyone recommend a potty chair that was helpful to their children?

I don't know if you have a boy or a girl, but if you have a boy, make sure you buy those little things that float in the water so they can use them as target practice. It makes it alot more fun for them when they have something to aim at.

My almost 21 month old thinks the "cup" in the actual chair is a hat.

We are still working at it.

my 4 year old potty trained on his own time line. he could of cared less about target practice. he put on a pair of big boy underwear 3 weeks before his 4th birthday and hasn't looked back. i didn't push, but i did try to get him interested in the potty early on. it took ME a while to realize that it wasn't MY decision.

my 19 month old sees his big brother going potty so he bellies up to the potty and sticks his tummy out to imitate him. maybe i'll have better luck with this one.

Another thing that worked great was, we went out and bought a little toilet, since the kids had their own bathroom. It was a real toilet expect it looked like it was built for a midgit.

I'd say skip the training potty and get a seat insert for the regular potty. No cleaning the crap outta the training potty.

I have potty trained 2 boys and never used those floaty things, didnt find it necessary to have play time in the bathroom, My girl trained very quickly. I bought a potty chair at walmart. The blue and white one that they can either use as a stool seat on the toilet or on the floor as a little toilet.

We used the seat thingy you take on and take off for the dd. For the ds, he is just using the toliet without a seat. It is working so far.

haha if I had a boy the whole target practice would be awesome..I just don't know what seat she would like...and someone said something about the little kid toilet seat insert to the actual toilet..I don't think her butt could stay up on that thing she would slip right down into the potty her booty is so small!

So you hold her up. Beats cleaning the crap outta the potty seat bucket.

The seat I had, my daughter didn't fall through. It is made for small tushies. It even had handles so she could put it on the toliet and be a "big girl"

It was either WalMart or Target. This is the one we had

I have 3. None are working. I thought for sure that the Royal Throne would do the trick. But, he's just not interested. I also have one that converts to steps and seat insert. :ohwell:
