my son will be 3 in june. he never tell me he has to pee. he used to when he was younger. if i put him on the potty he pees most of the time, but i have to be constant with him and its hard when i have a 6 month. i did the sticker reward system but that really didnt work. some say wait but i was just wondering if anyone has any ideas? should i just put him in under wear and let him pee on himself a couple time if he doesnt like it then maybe he will tell me??

Do a forum search. There are 101 of these threads. A few that were started and/or posted in last week. My suggestion: pay your kid to pee and poop. Works for me. :yay:

potty training a boy 02-21-2008 10:12 AM works for you, but teaching them what? take no responsability for there own bodly functions. Real good parenting, dumb ass.

Teaches them how to earn money at a young age. :yay:

they'll catch on when they want to. slow process ... be patient. my oldest didn't decide to stop wearing pull-ups until 2 weeks before he turned 4.

my youngest is doing better @ 2 1/2 than than he did, but he has an older brother to watch.

I gave mine a treat after they went. It also helps to have them run around with just a shirt on and or to use those plastic pants instead of Diaper or pull ups.

Socki how much do you give them?

It was a buck to poop and a quarter to pee. He got a bad case of the craps a few weeks ago and got 8 bucks out of me in one morning. So, he now only gets 2 quarters to poop. He likes quarters better anyways. They're shiney.

Just saw it on the other thread

We taught the kid to pee outside! He thought it was the neatest thing! Depends on where you live though - he got the idea REALLY fast....

And no - pooping was done inside on the toilet...

Hard to break him from pissing outside now that he is almost 12... but he 'aint pissing his pants! :killingme

Maybe you should have Daddy intervene...
IMHO paying a child to use the toilet isn't acceptable-what next-paying them to eat, sleep, do their homework?:eyebrow:

I didn't mean for him to hang outside for hours with his Johnson in the wind!!!

Put on some slippers - run out and make some yellow snow and run back in!

Just make sure you de-ice the stoop or he will be pissing in the air and on himself! :killingme

Seriously! I didn't freak out about it. Both of mine waited until right before they turned 4. When they are ready, there is less stress for everyone.

My MIL swears she had all hers trained by 18 mos. (3 boys, 3 girls), so it can be done. Boys are a lot harder and take longer than girls. I would definitely try big boy undies during the day. He will get the message when he's playing in soggy drawers. He probably isn't ready for night time though but when he is, use plastic sheets to keep the mattress dry and make sure he doesn't drink after dinner and goes potty before bed. If he is starting preschool in the fall, he will have to be trained by then so you can use that as an incentive also. Good luck!

:bs: My ex's mother swears that all 3 of hers were PT'd by time they were 2. Also, that she always fed them well. Yet, I have seen pics of the kids with tea in their bottles. Her own husband says that the boys were not PT'd by time they were 3.
