Pre-K Field Trip

:yeahthat: I'd have a hard time with that unless I was going to chaperone.

Agreed and that would depend on the age of the other child too.
Where are they going? I'm surprised they won't allow you to drive.

Once mine started riding the bus for school I would allow trips on the bus without me but only within the county, I don't want them going too far without me.

Ok, I went back and read everything.
This is for a daycare, correct?

What exactly is their reasoning as to why you may not drive?
Considering you have a special needs child I'd think they'd make an exception.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
If this a public school trip there are insurance issues that come in play here. Also, they do not want you driving your child to the the destination because of potential parking restrictions at the field trip site.

Insurance issues could also be the issue for private daycare.

I can't think of any field trip my daughter attented that would have had a parking issue. When she goes with the public school they won't allow the parents to ride the bus.

Which county is this? Every field trip I've been on with my son the parents HAD to ride on the bus with the kids.

Calvert - we had to follow the bus to the Wash Zoo.
Could have been because there were too many chaperones that day, I can't remember the reasoning behind it.

I have a friend in Charles that has not been allowed to ride with the kids for a field trip with her son also.

Ahh, now we're getting somewhere, that policy is the exact opposite of what it is in St. Mary's. (But, I can't say that people don't try to circumvent those rules to fit their personal wants.) My son's school has strict rules regarding field trips and the student to chaperone ratio.
...waiting for someone to tell me I'm F.O.S...
