Who's that? Is he local? I mean local to us.
Yes, Demko Rd I think.. He operates out of his house, and does have set hours (not 24 hour, but if you can wait til morning, worth the wait). Kevin's Towing. I've used him three times, no insurance, and never been more than a $100.. He towed me back from St Leonard, and I think he charged me $70, and picked up a car for me near the 301 bridge.

Husband uses him to tow one of his hot rod back and forth to various shops for repairs and swears by him. Wouldn't call anyone else he says.

Been using Kevin for maybe 20 years now. Maybe 8-10 tows, ranging from bringing a 68 cougar from LaPlata to Lex Park to getting my mangled motorcycle from near Gate 3 to SM City Motorsports. Only once has he been unable to help out, and that was that he was simply unavailable, for which he tried to apologize. Guys a straight shooter.

I also recommend Kevin's Towing. I met him back in the 90's when I briefly worked as a Service Manager. I haven't used anyone else since.

Number one coil. Every.single.time. They've replaced it, they've moved it around, they've switched it with other coils, it works for a whole year, then the weather goes below freezing and the engine light comes on and blinks.

What engine/car is it........?

I'm gonna shout out to Settler's Landing. They had plenty of parking and it wasn't assigned. One less thing to fight with your neighbors about.
Huh

Not in some cities, people "declare" a spot their and will defend it, literally to the death.
Worse, is if it's a cop, he will have you towed to the city impound lot. Not ticketed, not booted, just towed. You will owe lot fees etc. All completely illegal but hey, they wear different shades of blue.

Seems like "good standing" doesn't mean much, unless it eventually leads to forfeiture. How did you determine their USDOT #, could be that was from an old truck and they have a new one?

Hmmm lot more interesting post, well in this complex there are no numbered parking spaces, all residents have to have a pass or visitor parking pass for 1 car. Many residence park there second car in visitor parking. You cant even smoke on the property,
Thanks I'll have to copy that down. Knock on wood - coil number one seems to be holding so far this year - hasn't been cold enough I guess.
So these a holes say you give us 230 bucks on the spot, even if we had your car for 20 minutes. Lexwood is having tenants living there for years get there cars towed and held ransom for payment. What kind of poor management is that. The driver got out of the truck and gave a threat of bodily harm for exercising certain legal rights.

By driver, I'm thinking tow truck driver? If so, a Louisville Slugger would come in handy to encourage him to get back into this truck. Or, a personal carry Glock .40 would do the trick as well. And if he get really scared, let him call the popo .... then see who wins. Pretty sure he would lose.

Most of the tow truck drivers in the college town I used to live in practiced predatory towing and carried because of all the altercations they got in.

They towed my girlfriend's mom's brand new Lexus parked at her apartment building, Italian woman from LongIsland, she went ballistic on them at the tow yard. Pretty sure her dad had mob connections, she called him and they released her car within minutes.

a couple of thoughts for you (future use):
  1. File a complaint with the Sheriff's office. At least in regards to the threat of bodily harm.
  2. If enough tenants are being jacked, why doesn't the community present their complaint to the county for action. Assuming the company is acting illegally.
  3. The next time the truck shows up, get someone into the car, lock it and call the cops. Car can't be towed with someone in it.
Let the cops sort it out.
  1. Video record all interactions with the truck driver and/or representatives of the tow company.
  2. I believe there is a small claims court, if you think they are taking your property illegally, file a claim in court.

* I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV. I didn't spend the night at Holiday Inn Express. But there are actions you can take, pick one and follow through.
