President in Iraq

Just heard that President Bush is continuing with the tradition of being with the troops during this holiday. I'm sure some will call it a publicity stunt, but for me nothing could be more appropriate.

W just knows the right thing to do!

The Liberal Left is going to have a field day with this, but I don't really give a rats azz!

This visit was a tremendous thing for the President to do for the troops away from home.

Imagine him there doling out sweet potatoes and corn on the serving line for them!

What better way of saying "I have the utmost respect for you, and that I am fully behind you in this warzone". JHMO

3. He's coming back, not them.

As opposed to his predecessor's record.

1. He sent 'em (mostly missiles with no ground support, when he sent in troops, he refuesed to give them what they needed. Remember Mogodishu?)

2. Closest he's ever come to combat was defining the word "is" in court.

3. C'mon, he inhaled. What idiot would try drugs and not inhale?

I finally saw and heard the videotape of Dubya being introduced to the Army troops by Administrator Paul Bremmer, and the reaction of those men and women in uniform was truly something to behold.
You talk about jaw-dropping: the reception they gave our President, when they recognized him coming out from behind that curtain, brought goosebumps to my arms!

That was awesome!

A visit like that from your Commander-in-chief speaks volumes how he feels about you and the job you're doing.

Then, he went the extra mile by chatting with them for a bit, and joined the commands' officers in serving Thanksgiving Day dinner to those gals and guys.

Listen up Clintonistas!! If you want to witness a REAL Commander-in-chief, watch what Dubya has done for our men and women in the Armed Services!

This guy has real brass cojones to pull off this for our people!

You think those 600 men and women will ever forget their stay in Iraq in the year 2003?

1. Of course he did, but isn't that his job? Whether you agree with the war or not he did the right thing by showing his personal support for the men and women he sent into harm's way.
2. Not many other Presidents got very close either, what's your point?
3. Do you think that none of those there will come home? You can rest assured that they will all come home, just not today. None of them have been there over a year. Those that choose to serve sometimes make sacrifices so the rest of us can sit home safe and comfortable, no one twisted their arms to make them join, they knew what they were getting into when they signed on the dotted line, and for that I am thankful. I am also thankful that we have a President that no longer will sit on his haunches fondling the help.

Shiat Ken, that's the best thing Bubba was good at!

What good did he do for the Middle East Peace process?

What good did he do for the U.S. with the deal he brokered for us with North Korea?

Look what he did for us in letting sensitive microchip technology go over to Communist China, so they could perfect the delivery systems on their ICBMs.

Now President Bush has brought honor, integrity, trust and respect back to the White House, unlike our past administration.

Was he good at it? Stained a dress, was impeached, settled a harassment complaint, and lost his license to practice law. Sounds like he effed that up too.

As far as I am concerned none of the recent Presidents have done much good here. GW has time though, maybe he will do the right thing here and get something done. I doubt it though as it seems that we only support the Israelis no matter what they do or have done.

Sorry about that chief.
I'm glad you guys all wet your pants over the commander in chief visiting "his boys"...shows the spinmonikers were right. I know you guys all believe that he sh!tz flowers. Surprised nobody here has joined the reserves so they can fight the evil moslem menace.

Amazing they had cameras there for a "surprise" visit. If you believe in him than his handlers are doing their job. Next thing you know he'll be landing on a carrier, oh wait...Hmmm, what can he do now another tax cut? Clue bus....

Jealous, yeah sure who's inhaling now. I guess that's one way to get turkey to the troops.

Sorry Christy, :tantrum: Just that the unmitigated love for W on this board drives me crazy. Glad all of SOMD doesn't feel that way. I'll try and be nicer. Now see, you went and mad me mad again, just cause I hate dumbya don't mean I lovez Chillery, far from it. But I think she is more of a man than he ever will be.

Gotta admit it though, heck of a 2 1/2 hour photo op with elections coming up. Bet the families of the troops feel real nice about it.

The government has an agreement with the press. No president since Johnson has left the White House without a TV camera on him at all times. It's called the press pool. Half a dozen reporters are with him at all times in rotation and they agree to share all footage among themselves. If you switch to every channel's coverage of the event they will all be showing the same exact footage, not a slightly different angle, but EXACTLY the same. Think about when Reagan got shot. He was doing a lame speech for some little organization, not even a blip on the reporters radar, but they kept a camera on him as he was walking to the car. That's why we've all seen the same footage over and over and over.

The coverage I saw of the trip had reporters saying that when W went to get on the plane, they told the reporters, "come on we're leaving" they didn't know until they were on the plane where they were going.

Wrong again, Pumpkin Puff! Many of us weren't particularly impressed with Dub until the last few months. I've grown to admire him and think he's a pretty good Prez, despite some of his more liberal tendencies.

Admit it - if George Bush single-handedly cured cancer, eliminated poverty and brought world peace, you'd STILL find something to pule and bash him over.

You've been brainwashed by the DU.
