Primary voting

I'm considering changing my voter registration to Republican so I can vote for Trump in the primary. I'm pretty sure my county and state will go for DeSantis - he's our Gov after all - but Trump has a VERY large following here. It's possible DeSantis won't win his own state. Not probable, but still possible.

Then if Trump wins the nomination, I'll stay a Republican in solidarity. If he loses, I'll dump the GOP again before the general.

Not sure if this is even legal, so that's something I'd have to find out first. It's not like I'm a Democrat who breaks laws as a matter of course because laws don't apply to Democrats anyway.

As my-thyme said it should be pretty easy and you can do it as often as you want. I've contemplated registering Dem just to vote against candidates.

Just a few weeks ago you were telling us how great your governor was. Is this a better and best situation?

I still like him and would just as soon keep him as Gov for his full term (or forever), but if he gets the nomination I'll vote for him. I just don't want to be an official part of the Rethuglican gang. I'll do it to make a statement for Trump, though. My lone voice is so tiny and insignificant, but at least I'd feel I was using it however I can.

I'm thinking about doing that so I can vote for Marianne Williamson in the Dem primary, then vote straight Rep in the general election.

Voting Republican in Maryland is tantamount to pissing in the wind anyway, but I still do it just so I can say "I DID NOT get the government I voted for!". Based on that I'm fine with whoever wins the Rep primary.

Yes keep supporting a lying treasonous man who tried to steal an election by any means necessary.

Your patriotism is boundless

Honestly, I like Marianne Williamson more than any of the other Dems. So how is being honest fraudulent?

Oh, that's right, you wouldn't understand because you are a fraudulent, dishonest Dem.:neener:

Changing your affiliation so you can vote for someone you wont vote for in the actual election

Sounds kinda of like voter fraud

It is!
Much like winning an argument against a Democrat is kinda like racism and transphobia.

And just in case you didn't pick up on it - that was sarcasm. Thick juicy mucusy sarcasm.

It is not voter fraud.

Voter fraud would be if I changed my party affiliation to Democrat and then voted several times. Perhaps on behalf of the deceased. Legitimately voting for someone you don't like is protected under the first amendment.

Much like spouting off the stupidest shit imaginable.

So cheating in the primary to effect the outcome of the general seems to be voter fraud and we are back where we started dum dum
:roflmao:Primary voting constitutes voter fraud in the general election! Astonishing!

I hope you have some beer and mustard to go with that pretzel logic. :buddies:🥨

What was described is not cheating.

Not by any definition of the word that I'm aware of, or would accept.

It's doing something that YOU don't like - but that's worth about as much as a turd behind a phonebooth.

Cheating would be, say, registering as a Democrat under your name - then voting - then changing your name then voting AGAIN. I'm sure that even someone with a mollusk-like intellect could noodle that through.

What's actually described above is not cheating. It's wasting or throwing away your vote. But that's everyone's prerogative. You can use your vote to vote for any-****ing-body you want. For any ****ing reason you choose.

That bears repeating.... I'll type slow now.

ANY ****ing BODY
For ANY ****ing REASON.

I think the asterisks are throwing her off.
