Primary voting

In states with "open primaries" - primaries where voters can vote for any party they choose - the Democratic Party has a LOOOOONG history of encouraging Democrat voters to crossover and vote for the weakest candidate of the opposing party - in ANY race.

They don't think it's cheating.

As my-thyme said it should be pretty easy and you can do it as often as you want. I've contemplated registering Dem just to vote against candidates.
I was a Republican from when I turned 18 til 2016. I changed to Dem. just to vote for Bernie instead of Hilary. This is Md., any Republican vote is simply a protest vote in the Presidential election.

It's a shame, but you are right. The candidates don't even bother to stop here ,as close as we are to Washington.

I remember Al Gore stopping here in September 2000 - did an event at Burch Oil Clarke’s Landing loading facility.

I don't remember that.
Not my proudest moment but my wife, daughter(4mo old at the time) and I were invited to be on stage with Gore while he gave a speech about reducing price of oil. Me being me, I didn’t follow instructions. We were told beforehand not to stand up when Gore approached us to shake hands. Well not only did I stand up but I also pulled a hat out of a bag to present to him. I thought the secret service were gonna take me down right there on stage. But I had to get my message out about agriculture.
