Help!!!! I'm new at this stuff - who and where is the best place to rent propane tanks for home use -- backup for heat pump and fireplace.

What size tank do you want?

Big tanks would require a truck comming to your home to fill it. A 20 pound tank is something easy to fill and transport from home to a fill station.

For 20% tanks is there a club store near your home BJs or Sam's Club?

I use Taylor, but look in the phone book, call and ask the various providers listed and ask for the set up prices.

This wasn't you traveling down the road the other day?

Not my idea of the best way to transport these things in case of a collision, but then again what do I know... I drive a tanker hauling gas :lmao: I have mine refilled at the Rod & Reel located in Dameron.

I will never tailgate that guy

I was always told that if you had to carry flammables such as gas/propane/kerosene you were supposed to carry it in you vehicle because it could create an electrical charge and explode

I guess he assumed that metal on metal wouldn't do that

Some people might notice that and not tailgate. However they tailgate me all day long with a nice shiny tank with a bright red placard telling them I haul flammables.

Scary, yes but not as scary as a man standing 15 feet from the truck while off-loading taking a break to fire up a cig :faint:

You can also try Aero Energy, I believe they are in P.F. but will service St. Mary's. Good prices and service.

By "backup for heat pump" do you mean a gas furnace? If so, you will need at least a 100 gal. LP tank. If you have both fireplace and furnace, they might recommend two 100 gal tanks. Taylor is good to deal with.
